Went to The Wharf as part of a larger group booking. We were seated downstairs and had the whole section to ourselves. The menu was the carvery with some other separate choices. The food was beautifully hot, fresh and plentiful. The staff that took care of us were were attentive and friendly. All in all, would recommend and definitely go back.
We had a very good Christmas dinner everything was cooked to perfection and the staff took excellent care of us to be reccommended thank you to all the staff
The Wharf is a lovely pub surrounded by beautiful scenery! Which makes lovely photos! Friendly Staff ! I recommend it to anyone to visit
Stunning view of the lake and fantastic food
Myself and a group of friends visited the Wharf yesterday. The food was fantastic! The staff was really helpful as I have a gluten allergy. The member of staff took the time out to go through their allergen folder and helped me through the whole process and made me and the group feel welcome. The 2 ladies that was working are a credit to you. We will be returning very soon.
Great food good bar& restaurant staff great place to enjoy a meal or out for a drink
Found this little gem today went for lovely lunch for hubby birthday beautiful view over lake , lovely food will definitely be back again
Fantastic place! Every time I'm in the country, I make it very intentional to stop by for some of the most memorable food. The food is always hot and the beer is always cold - have had friends visit on my referral and thank me greatly.. You will too :)
Excellent roast from the cravery, piping hot, meat cooked beautifully, veg perfect and roast potatoes to die for. Lovely friendly staff. Highly recommend. Will be back really soon
Beautiful pub Overlooking the lakes you Can sit outside On the Maranda food amazing all cooked from scratch
relaxed surroundings , helpful staff , quick service .. clean facilities , food not brilliant but u get what you pay for .
Very friendly staff and excellent food.
My only gripe was the bun which came with the burger
Obviously out the freezer as it all broke up when I tried to eat it but otherwise excellent
Their gain was the Campanile hotels loss as although the hotel are supposedly pet friendly, pets are only allowed in the room and nowhere else so better to go where pets are made welcome and owners can eat and drink with their pets 🐶
Lovely views from the many windows overlooking the huge lake populated by various wildfowl. Good choice of meals and vegetarian options at a very reasonable price. Plenty of wines to choose from too and good value.
Lovely setting friendly staff but vegetables with roast very undercooked (verging on raw!) . Rest of the meals fine lovely desert.
Nice pub, good views and friendly atmosphere! Main meals were o.k and puddings were lush! Be a real shame if this place is being closed early next year!
Been coming here for family gathering every 2/3 months for the last 2 yrs now and have really enjoyed it. However, yesterday Sunday 8th April the whole family was very disappointed! My mother and i ordered steak medium and it came 'chard' over cooked n rubbery and dripping with fat! They recooked us another one each but it wasn't much better. The roast dinner other family members had was very disappointing as they wasn't given any extra veggies in a side dish as previous times we have visited apart from the 2 veg" on the plate. We noticed straight away how portion sizes have reduced dramatically and yet prices stay the same. Unfortunitly we won't be returning again, Very sad at that. I would add one positive , that all staff were polite and welcoming. Thank you for that.
Me and my family have been coming to The Wharf every Thursday for a year or so and we have never had a problem with it, lovely food and lovely service, although today was different. As my mum is a childminder she often has children with her every Thursday and they are supplied with lunch from their parents. There is always four or more adults with us and the bar staff are always polite to us. Today we came in and had four adults and four children with their own lunch and we ordered for main meals. We spent a good amount of money in there today as every Thursday as well but it was only after we had paid for our meals that the manager came over and said that the children are not allowed to have their own lunch and would of had to buy food off of the children's menu. My mum explained that she was a childminder but the manager was not polite or professional in any way. I am very disappointed and annoyed as we have been going there for over a year now with the children whilst the manager has been there and nothing has been said about their lunch until today. Unfortunately now we will not be returning to The Wharf.
Lovely pub, food usually great, my meal lunchtime today was the worst I've ever had, pan fried chicken wrapped in bacon, purple potatoes & brocolli, it was more like a bone dry tiny bit of chicken sat in warm watery milk sauce that had no flavour whatsoever and potatoes stodgy & overdone, the meal overall dreadful. Partner had fish & chips, his was perfect, lucky him. waitress most miserable woman, never smiled once, put food down walked away, we just left in the end, worst time ever in there. Would have complained no one around, except 2 busy non smiling bar staff
As a drinker of Shepherd Neame beers, I often look for a Shepherd Neame pub for a few drinks and a meal with my wife. Normally, this leads to good beer and good food in a nice environment. Unfortunately, The Wharf at Dartford left me dissapointed. It started well...they had Orchard View cider on tap. That's the reason for the solitary star. We decided to eat outside as it was a nice afternoon and the pub looks over a nice lake (albeit surrounded by industrial units). As non-smokers, it was good to see that they had an area set aside...however, this area was at the back of the beer garden from where the lake was obscured by the smoking area. After choosing a table, I went into the bar to order the food. Whilst waiting to be served, I overheared the manager telling another member of staff that they are closing down early next year. Maybe a conversation that should have been behind the scenes. Anyway, I ordered our food and returned to our table. The service was extremely slow, particularly as they didnt seem overly busy...must have been approaching 30 minutes. The food was extremely poor...the most awful burger I've had in a long time. The chips were overcooked, crunchy and tasteless. The coleslaw was a very poor attempt...dried up shredded cabbage with even drier carrots. All round, very poor.
