Went in today for lunch, excellent service from the staff working, play area was great for my daughter although there are a few small areas that need Maintenace, great food and will be coming back again as my daughter loves the pirate ship!
We had a lovely meal here nothing was to much trouble for Franklin and the staff at The White Horse . We were made to feel very welcome and will be going back again .
Thank you to all the staff at the Whitehorse who made last night run as smoothly as possible (with my help with getting orders in) haha!! We had a few hiccups along the way with the change in managers who never rung back & countless calls from myself to take the orders as we was a large party. With the help of Ralph & Alex the chefs they was amazing from me nipping into see them to get the orders sorted to then catering the buffet for us and making the night run brilliant everyone was so happy with the food It was beautiful they was brilliant could not thank them both enough! Also the girls on shift was brilliant approachable & very helpful! Thank you & you guys are what make the place. Thank you everyone we got there in the end.
Thank you for hosting a large family group tonight. Lovely food and helpful staff. Thank you x
Really nice welcome. Friendly attentive staff. Had a nice drink here by the fire on Friday afternoon and returned for some nice food Saturday. Fish & chips was lush. Little one had a pizza followed by chocolate brownie with ice cream. Other half had a burger. All good. Nice Scot and atmosphere. Worth a visit.
Lovely venue, child friendly, dog friendly and friendly, helpful staff:)
Lovely place for both adults and children!!! Food was gorgeous and the kids had a great time on the play area.
Had a fantastic time yesterday Christmas dinner with my beautiful family. Food excellent staff service very very good . Had a great day out beautiful pub would recommend it to everyone wish you all a very merry Christmas and Happy new year xxx
Couldn’t fault the White Horse, Chester. Was there with my fiancé and 2 year old son. Great atmosphere, nothing too much trouble for the friendly approachable staff, amazing food that won’t break the bank (I recommend the burger) and great, safe play area for kids. Oh and free parking! Ralph is a credit to the top notch kitchen team.
BIG thank you to Siobhan & team. Had Sunday lunch reunion meal this afternoon .....17 of us in all! Most impressed with the exceptional service and ease of booking (no deposits needed). Food was excellent, hot & everyone served together. Guests who hadn't pre ordered desserts were offered dessert menus and hot drinks, extra water for the table.
Siobhan was really attentive checking in with me about serving drinks, when to serve food and even suggested an easy option for payment. As a group we even had a designated area for friends joining us later in the afternoon. The afternoon was very relaxed as there was no pressure for us to vacate our table. I highly recommend the white horse and will definitely be visiting again very soon.
Well presented tasty food served on hot plates which is a rarity these days excellent service.
Visited on Wednesday afternoon with my 4 year old granddaughter. She enjoyed making her Pizza, & playing with the Slime. My BLT was excellent. Staff tremendous. I had a problem with my mobile & the staff put it on charge for me- so grateful. Ben on the Slime was ace! Thank you, we will visit again in half term
Three times we had to send children’s plain burger back for having cheese on. The larger burger meal was more like a Child’s.
Portion to cost ?
Very disappointing! Extremely slow service, very disorganised, no draught beers due to a technical issue, took 3 attempts to get the drinks we ordered, my wife complained about stale food and all we got told was “I’ll tell the chef”, not what you should get when it was over £16 for a main course. Won’t be visiting again.
The staff at the white horse honestly seem a little clueless and one inparticular is quite rude. Last week me and my friend were served food with no cutlery and when we asked for it, the cutlery still didnt arrive. I went to the outside bar to order and pay for drinks and they said theyd bring them over, after 15min i went back over to check and they had forgotten and today i ordered and paid for 3 coffees and went back to check after 20mins to be told they had no milk....eventually luke warm coffees arrived, not even hot enough to desolve the sugar cube. We went today for a hyped up slime event...aka a paste table in the corner with a tub of glue, poster paints and a few bowls. The kids enjoyed making the slime but you cant call it an event at all. The playground outside is very nice.
For Easter Sunday, abysmal service, no napkins, no pudding spoon, no service waitress with underwear showing. Managers comments we we are busy, we’re sitting in a half empty restaurant, who would not be geared up with staff on Easter Sunday, with 200 camping units on field and a food and drink festival on the race course, shame on you White Horse. Bitterly disappointed.
Would not recommend SLIME MAKING firstly To the management you may want to inform your staff that this is taking place the lady behind the bar had no clue it was on. I was not greated on arrival there was nobody at the bar I had to find someone who then told me, "sit anywhere" nobody came to our table. It was raining and we got soaked attempting to make slime outside , we visited in the Easter holidays slime making was great, indoors and my daughter got to make loads, not this time !!!! Left hungry and disappointed!!!!!!
Went here for birthday tea on 18/7/18. Firstly nobody responded to my message about booking. When we arrived we were given a nice table and manager helpful with high chairs etc. Unfortunately, this positive vibe did not last. Ordered garlic and cheese dough balls. Dry, no garlic. Mains were abysmal. Burger bun black and burger undercooked. Coleslaw was 100 percent old and tasted dreadful. Service was slow and to top it off a hair was found inside Onion ring. Did complain to manager. He was pleasant enough but did insist the coleslaw was fresh. Repeatedly. It absolutely wasn’t. He told us the hair in the onion ring was a problem for the suppliers so would make them aware?! He did give discount but we still paid £90 for a birthday meal that was ruined. Lovely place but food not up to scratch.
Terrible service and horrific food. Wouldn’t return or recommend! Some of the food we were served was out of date!
