Repost @realkellyholmes1500 I was struggling to get out of bed this morning as I was SO knackered from yesterday 😣 BUT I knew I had to do a ...recover run to get the blood circulating around the body and toxins out otherwise tomorrow DOMS will be 10times worse!
Tip:
Always do a recovery run/session after a hard workout/race to help the body repair and get the benefit from what you have done.
For running I probably go at least a minute to 90sec slower at the start of my recovery run and will never go closer than 45secs per mile of my “normal” steady running pace. Basically make it a comfortable talking pace.

Here is my quick hill session from yesterday. Next week I will be posting my tips for running up and down hills, but this is just a insight into the type of sessions I am doing at the moment.
... This one was 10 hills with ralaxed jog recovery and turn straight back round. Drive up the hill, use your arms, shorten your stride and go!
Hills are a good form of resistance and strength training Uses quads, hamstrings glutes and calf muscles. Kerry is from Salisbury and is an Assistant Psychologist who began cycling on a donated MTB which she used to commute 1 mile to and from placement in Exeter as a student in 2012. Inspired by a housemate at the time who had built a road bike which comparatively wasn't squeaky and went really fast, Kerry purchased an entry level road bike, took it to Maindy track in Cardiff and has never looked back since!

Preferred racing distance? A lengthy road race with a long 5-10%ish hill would be the preference
What are your aims / targets for the season ahead? Last season was my first proper season of racing so I’d like to do the team series again and try out a couple of national level races. One or two hill climbs towards the end of the season would be cool too.
What do you love best about cycling / racing? It's the best of everything rolled into one: fitness, great humans, therapy, cake, flat whites.
Oh, and finding what you think is your pain barrier then pushing through it (not so appealing to the novice but becomes fun, trust me)
What are your strengths in cycling / racing? Hills. All the hills. (*providing I'm sufficiently fuelled on cake)
What area do you want to improve? Building up some top level power so that I’m stronger in a bunch sprint.
What's your advice for women looking to start cycling / racing I would always say give it a try. No matter where you’re at. It's too much fun not too ;) And if you're not associated with one already, join a club! It's the best way to learn, gain confidence and meet like-minded people.
What's the best advice you have ever been given? "There are no secrets, just train." "Pain is your friend."

She is in great company, in a list packed full of brilliant women who are changing the face of cycling & encouraging others (of all genders) to join in with them.
We are a team of two, and the reason Rhian can find the time to organise events, teams & rides is that @laura_sloman is holding the fort back in THREO HQ (while pregnant and juggling a ...ten month old! 💪)
Shout out to @dirtywknd for their support with group rides and who share our passion for equality in sport.

Originally from Berlin, Mathilde came to cycling from a rowing background (not just as any rower we should add, she was a world championship winning rower!!). And whilst we might not all have that kind of sporting pedigree, it does reinforce our belief that its never too late to get into cycling.
... Mathilde is currently working as a qualified doctor (in training to be neurologist) and still managed to take a hard fought second place in a recent cyclopark race...after having won a TT in the morning. To be honest, we've had to go have a lie down just thinking about Mathilde's achievements.

// What are your aims / targets for the season ahead? // I would like to race a mix of crits and road races again, in the UK and abroad - coming away with a win or two would be an added bonus! I would also like to do a few TTs next year, and see if I can go a bit faster if I actually prepare properly for one.
// What do you love best about cycling / racing? // The buzz going fast gives you, and that feeling after, laughing with my friends about what did, and what didn't go so well.

We're super excited to announce THREO has teamed up with leading road cycling and triathlon experts Sigma Sports to launch a WOMEN'S RACING TEAM!
You know we are passionate about encouraging women in sport, and we thought we'd put our money where our mouth is.
... We believe: - women shouldn't be afraid of being 'competitive' - women's sport needs more coverage, more money and more support - in encouraging more people into the incredibly welcoming cycling community
The THRĒO x Sigma Sports Team, which consists of seven female athletes, from all around the UK, will be competing in national, as well as international races throughout the year.
We will be featuring details on the women in the team over the next few weeks, together with their upcoming races - and details of how you can go along and support them.
Our aim with the team, as with our THREO kit, is to empower women in sport, with a clear focus on racing.

I'm so glad I stopped at the THREO stall at the Manchester bike expo... got some fab new season tri shorts (as a bonus they are the perfect colour match for my club kit!) and, having now worn them twice I can say that I LOVE them- did a middle distance tri in them yesterday and they were super comfy throughout- they dried quickly after the swim, just the right amount of chamois for the bike (but without being bulky for the run) and they felt great for running- no sausage legs, no riding up etc! Will def be purchasing more kit!

Highly recommend. Great quality and super friendly when trying to work out sizes. The bike shorts are a great feel, I just ordered a second pair!!

Brilliant fit, gorgeous colours. In my last triathlon, as a cyclist overtook me (oops), she shouted out that I should win the award for the nicest tri suit! I would have preferred a podium finish, but if I can't have that, the prettiest tri suit will do!!
