It’s nearly Atlantic Crossing time! On the 25th November @teamtigress will be leaving Gran Canaria to depart on the ARC Transatlantic race for the fourth year running. The past two years it has been relatively unpredictable to see how the trade winds will fill-in and evolve and the race has offered up a complex routing challenge last year avoiding depressions that tracked farther south than anticipated.Any crossing always tests all parties be it in the form of detachment, sta...mina or exhaustion. Many see crossing the Atlantic as one of the greatest life adventures to undertake. Arriving in St Lucia is always indescribable. We have 2 crew places to race with @teamtigress on this epic journey. If you think your cut out for it get in touch with us at Team.tigress.sport@gmail.com. Do something amazing this year! #sailing #atlanticcrossing #sailacrosstheatlantic #racing #yachtracing #oceanracing #testyourself #adventure #dosomethingdifferent #expedition #nocontactwiththeoutsideworld #nofacebook #threeweeks #stlucia #grancanaria #arc #arcplus #atlantic #atlanticocean #oceansailing #yachting

A great weekend of racing this weekend at the Performance 40 nationals. Two days of glamour conditions meant this was true pack racing with busy starts and busy mark roundings offering lots to think about and a few very hectic moments. Our team were ace this weekend with many laughs and lots great team work. We locked out at a couple of starts and some busy mark roundings resulting in penalties meant a few points lost, however despite this we finished 11th of 16 boats out for the competition. The racing at this event was excellent and thanks to our team and the other teams who turned out to race for the weekend!

Very excited to get back on the water this weekend for Performance 40 Nationals, which is part of the new Performance 40 series concepted by Dave Swete. We weren’t here to take part in the first half of this year but @teamtigress are taking part on Olympia’s Tigress this weekend. It going to be a hot weekend of racing, not all boats on the list below are taking part this weekend but rest assured the ones who are a mostly either Cowes Week overall winners, Round the Island class winners, National Class Championship contenders. 😁 We’ll be trying our best 😂🙏🏻😁🙄 Got to sail against the best....to get better ourselves. #performance40nationals #P40 #Performance40 #First40 #Yachtracing #learnfromthebest #racing #competition #getgood #getbetter #improve #doingwhatwedo #sailing #yachting #team

Time to share some exciting pieces of news on plans for the next 12 months for @teamtigress. Some changes in direction have meant we’ve shaken things up a bit.
You may have seen that Olympia’s Tigress our First 40 will be staying in the UK for the winter. Olympia will be taking part in the Hamble Winter Series until December and then in March she will compete in the Warsash Spring Series, the RORC Easter Regatta and be then ready for a full Fastnet campaign over the summer m...onths in 2019.
@teamtigress are also competing in the Rolex Middle Sea Race in Malta on the 20th October, the team will be racing Elan 450 “Emily” formerly “Hurricane” for this famous 600 mile offshore, it’s the first time the team have taken part in the event and it’s certainly one we are looking forward to.
From Malta, for some of us it’s straight to Las Palmas, Gran Canaria to once again journey to the Caribbean taking part in the ARC transatlantic race. Excitingly this year @teamtigress will be taking Gran Soleil 43 “Jua Kali” across the pond (whoever called it a pond had no idea what they were talking about btw, it is not a pond!) Leaving on the 25th November this will be an exciting crossing for us having raced against Jua Kali in last years ARC, both boats finished 4th and 5th in Racing B class. We are really looking forward to it this year and it makes an exciting change for the team to be onboard Jua Kali.
We have places still available for the ARC, Hamble Winter Series and for the Fastnet 2019, so get in touch with us at team.tigress.sport@gmail.com if you think you might be interested in getting involved.
@teamtigress aims to open up competitive yacht racing to women and men, allowing highly experienced and less experienced sailors to race along side one another so that all may benefit. @teamtigress aim to push individual efforts and train and give opportunity to sailors experienced or non experienced in positions they might not usually do, breaking personal boundaries and providing adventure and achievement for all involved.
It’s an exciting 12 months ahead!

An awesome picture found by our fab trainee Sarah Yasmin from St Maarten Regatta this Caribbean season. Olympia second to the upwind mark behind “Apollo J121.” We definitely picked the correct side of the track that day!

Check out this awesome video of the girls who took part in the most recent edition of the Volvo Ocean Race. I saw this at the Cardiff stopover whilst at #themagentaproject afternoon. Awesome to hear Stacey Jackson from Team Vestas speak there, she started off with the comment, “Now I know a lot of you girls would like to be on this race but I just want to let you know one thing and that is, you see in this video, when you’re standing on the bow in the southern ocean with water hosing you down and it’s freezing cold..... this music is not playing in the background.” 😂😂😂 Annie Lush Libby Greenhalgh Hannah Diamond, Abby Ehler and all in this, it’s inspiring!

The end is nigh.... Every year it happens, sadly the summer eventually ends and for some that can mean downing your sailing gloves until 2019. Not necessarily though! @teamtigress will be taking part in the Hamble winter series! Winter series spans eight weekends between the beginning of October and December. There’s a weekend break after 4 weekends. This year the series includes the last weekend of the already successful Performance 40 class series. If you are interested in racing this series of 8 weekends with us then please get in touch with us at team.tigress.sport@gmail.com #performance40 #yachting #racing #yachtracing #winterblues @teamtigress

After an attempt at racing today for the 7th day of Cowes Week, Racing for our class and many others was abandoned whilst seeing wind speeds of nearly 45knts. This means that out of 26 boats overall in IRC 3 we have finished 9th in this class. 2nd charter boat! 4th First 40. So proud of all our crew members this week and the groups who sailed with us latterly. Very saddened to hear there is still a casualty being treated after today. Always appreciative to come off the water in one piece. Well done and massive thanks to Louise Clayton Sarah Yasmin and Robyn Fitzgerald who have worked so hard all week to make racing fun and safe onboard.

This is a post for Sarah Yasmin who has been our 2018 race trainee! What a diamond she is, always smiling, always giving morning hugs. She started with @teamtigress in January in the Caribbean and to date has done 10 regattas progressing to being our centre boat boss. This beautiful girl has improved her sailing by 5000% during this time having done over 5,000 Miles of racing and very tough deliveries with us. She is a pure gem, a friend and a truly beautiful person inside and out. Today and yesterday she worked with us to deliver 2 beginner corporate days and worked running the centre of the boat as a teacher with our clients. We love you Sarah and are so proud of what you’ve achieved. She leaves us at the end of the month to join a boat for 3 months of the Oyster world rally. You will be sadly missed puffin but we are so proud 😍😍😍
