About Toby Carvery

Here at Toby Carvery Eden Park, we believe there's only one way to do our beloved British roast – and that's properly.

Toby Carvery Description

When it comes to roast dinners, we really know our stuff. Every day our chefs lay on a feast of tender, hand-carved meats with all the trimmings – including towering Yorkshire puds, golden roasties with all those lovely little crunchy bits, and plenty of freshly prepared veg, all crowned with proper gravy. So it's no wonder we're Beckenham's favourite carvery restaurant.

Dry January or not, our lime and mint cooler is the perfect drink to indulge in, this month 😍
P.s it tastes just like a mojito!

Running out of ideas for Veganuary Visit Toby Carvery Eden Park for some some great vegan options

Well don't bother reading the previous reviews as all change for the better.

4 roasts, all cooked well.

Loads of veg and changed as required to keep fresh and inviting.

Deserts were great and lavish.

Waitress was attentive and a delight to converse with.

Drinks and bar guys were helpful and give the customer time.

What more can be asked for.

Glad to see you are up and running again...and on that note, I would just like to say, that whenever I have visited this establishment, whether it’s been for drinks, bar food, carvery or breakfast...I have always found the staff and food (not forgetting the drinks)....perfect. I have even rocked up with 7 people for my birthday (on a Saturday) with no booking...(I MUST remember you can book!!) with no problem...I highly recommend this place and will continue to visit, time and time again.

Booked a table yesterday for 6.00pm they were running late so had to wait 30mins but didn't mind had a drink whilst we waited. The restaurant was very busy and a bit manic lots of families. Our meal was lovely apart from the Yorkshire puddings something had gone wrong which the did tell us before we sat down they had run out of their pre-mixed ones and someone had tried unsuccessfully to make them they were flat but tasted ok. Enjoyed our meal and will return

User

The food as usual very good and nice you can get as much vegetables/stuffing/potatoes as you like. However, despite making a booking we still had to wait 30minutes. The queue was ridiculously long, as for a Sunday they thought only 1 person would be able to cope behing the carvery. The dirnks took a while coming out, only for my order to be wrong (however that could easily have been a miscommunication). The staff were friendly however not so attentive (empty glasses left throughout the meal and took a while to get the bill). The toilets could definitely do with an upgrade as the rest of the place is nice.

Overall we would go back again as it is good food, but there are definite improvements. I presume it is much better to not go on a Sunday!

Had to wait about 15 minutes for table and i booked. Pork and beef were fatty turkey was fab veg were hard nearly burnt my hand on the serving spoon for sprouts as sitting under the hot lamp had to use a serviette to hold the handle. The server was ok but make u fill like u have to hurry up and then u say you're ready for pudding and kept saying be there in 2 mins, 3 mins, in a minute very annoying. Have been before last year and was much better i think gone down hill a bit.

Well it's been a week today since I went flying through the air with me dinner at the gravy station to end up in a pile on the floor surrounded by gammon and beef and veggies. In front of a PACKED restaurant. The guy who carves the meat was hanging over the divider asking if I was OK and said I keep telling them to clear the mess up, it's the kids.

The manager of the restaurant took all my details and was great but I would have thought a follow up call or email at least to see how I was? Especially seeing as after getting a replacement dinner, I sat down went to get the salt cellar and promptly smashed a wine glass all over mine and my Mum's dinner.

User

The food is an average carvery, surroundings a bit dismal to say the least. Customer service on arrival very poor, arrogant and rude! Surprised you have any customers with Kate on the front desk!

User

Restaurant ìn desperate need of redecoration! Toilets avoid avoid avoid! They are always dirty. On my last visit I found a bottle of toilet cleaner open nxt to the toilet ( I think that was as far as it got) I moved it out of the reach of a child, told the staff who I have to say weren't that interested!

Food so so . Server was great fun and helpful. Most other staff obviously don't like there jobs. Had to ask 3 different members of staff to get deserts.

User

Not been in this pub for a while as customer care had been getting progressively worse. Popped in several times this week and things appear to have hit rock bottom!

The beer is served in warm glasses and often looks flat. 3/5

There never seems to be enough bar staff, and waiting times are unusually long. 1/5

Staff attitudes to customers vary (some are excellent and very helpful, more are average and couldn’t care less) 2/5

Food and Fluid is reasonably priced, but presentation doesn’t always look like the beautiful pictures 3/5

Management seem disorganised, unhelpful, and on occasion have been rude. 1/5

GONE DOWNHILL, Went yesterday bank holiday & unless you go between mon-sat it is always way too busy. You can tell the food is also rushed when busy, potatoes hard, carrots too hard etc there's never any seating in the bar & they seem to never have broccoli on the menu anymore.

Also it's so hot in the restaurant they really need to invest in air con. We use to come here twice a month but now only once every couple months. The overcrowding & everything I have already explained is offputting. Also there prices have gone up to £10 each adult which is overpriced considering how much meat you get.

User

Appalling service, average food. Won't be back. Food cold, waited ages for our drink. Waiter didn't check on us at all or offer anymore drinks. didn't even come back to clear our plates once we were done. We had to hunt out waiter down and when he eventually came yo take our dessert order we were told he has no idea how long we would have to wait as he had just taken two other 'parties' orders. We refused and asked for the bill. Unacceptable considering there were only two other large parties and barley anyone else in the restaurant.

User

We turned up on the morning of my sons birthday, early enough to be seated however there was no member of staff available, at which we seated ourselves and got our three children a plate of food which only consisted of Yorkshire pudding and a couple of fried eggs, only to be told the bacon would be 10mins, very poor customer service, to top it off we were charged for full breakfasts when in fact all that was available to eat was beans, bacon,Yorkshire pudding very unsatisfied

User

We arrived at 10am for a buffet breakfast as we had an appointment to get to for 11.30am. On arrival we were told the sausages would be 25 mins. We paid for our breakfast and patiently waited in the bar. After being told the sausages were ready, we then saw that there were no eggs (scrambled and fried) or ketchup. As no staff members were present for 10 mins, my partner had to knock on the kitchen door to ask someone to fill up the eggs. There were many members of staff in the kitchen laughing and messing around as if they didn't have any work to do. In the meantime we put our toast in and filled up our plates with what little food we could. We waited a further 15 mins for the eggs, by this time my toast and other food went cold. Still no ketchup! We wanted to re do our toast and had to wait a further 10 mins for bread. By this time we are hungry, stressed and panicking we are going to be late for our appointment. We didn't want to eat cold bacon, sausages etc so we asked to speak to the manager. He was quite abrupt in his apology and did give us a refund. However, this is the last thing I expect from a massive company like the Toby Carvery. I was extremely disappointed and will never be going back there. I will also be telling everyone I know to not go there for breakfast as they will just be disappointed as I was.

I would like someone to get back to me with an explanation and compensation to make up for my awful experience.

User

The staff are unbelievably rude and patronising especially Chris the manger and Danielle the waitress!! The food was served cold and clearly doesn't state it is on the menu!!! We will never be returning to this toby carvery again I wouldn't even give it 1 star!!

User

Shocking experience..... went for breakfast.... no food .... took our money tho! Food ran out and wasn't being replenished.... no coffee, no bread, no bacon, no sausages, no beans!!!! Normally love the Toby breakfast but after spending £31 odd for my family and we went away still hungry not sure I'd go again!

User

Our table was booked for 6.15 got seated at 6.45 and we had 3 young children with us, the service as ridiculous had to ask 3 different people for our drinks, then when we got our food it was all cold, no body come to ask if we was ok for drinks or if everything was ok with our food, I've never experienced such poor food & service

User

My Son his partner and my 2 granddaughters had Dinner here on Tuesday, 6 hours later all 4 of them were being violently sick , they were shivering and had bad stomach cramps. My sons partner was hospitalised for 12 hours and put on a drip she is 11 weeks pregnant

User

I had hoped things would have changed being closed down and new management unfortunately it is even worse! Only one member of staff who has any customer service skills at all! Extremely busy and was in the queue for half an hour, veg all needed replacing and was dry. We were a table of 11 and there were other big parties yet not the staff to cope, the management if that's what they can be called seemed completely lost. It's a great shame as used to really enjoy eating here but won't be hurrying back!! Dan the waiter is the only positive this place has going for it and treats his customers with respect at all times.

User

Didn't actually get to eat there, tried to book via website for it to crash and not have my booking. Phoned through to get it confirmed and told they were not accepting tables of more than 6, I wanted 7. Couldn't confirm if tables were together. They asked if I wanted a manager to call me back and 8 hours later I'm still waiting for the call. Went to a pub down the road from there which was excellent.
