... Featuring Dee Bryne from Entropi
"Presenting Original and Intelligent Jazzy, Deep Funk Grooves."
Formed in 1992; The Soul Immigrants continue to make original and intelligent jazzy, deep funk grooves.' They have every right to sound confident; their variety shows itself through the music, and combined with the influence of a previous generation of funk and soul results in a character that would be hard to emulate.
They mine a musical playing field that pays homage to the past masters of soul, funk and Jazz. The Immigrants do it so well and with such style, that it is still relevant today. The band has amassed a steady stream of dedicated followers in Germany and Japan rather than their native U.K. bedazzling fans with an irresistible blend of "in the pocket grooves" and '70s-era soul/funk.
The Soul Immigrants are on it not because they pander to whatever sound is currently fashionable, but because they have unmistakable talent for performance and composition that any fan of live music shouldn't miss out on. Be prepared to dance and join the party in full swing mode when you go to one of their gigs. Emrys Baird is a consummate frontman and all round entertainer and this 5 piece are real funk masters for sure with the grittiest of horn sections and vocals to die for ! This is retro feel-good music - unashamedly yesterday’s sounds for today!
" You guys are fierce!" Carleen Anderson
"I like the way you sing| You’re a Soul Brother Too!" Charles Bradley
"Sunk Without The Funk now that’s a tune!!" Craig Charles

Toulouse Lautrec is an interesting venue and restaurant where they have live jazz and other type of music including Brazilian and some relaxing ones. The restaurant and bars are on 3 floors and producing some excellent dishes from French cuisine. Halibut that we had for our dinner was cooked to perfection with a sophisticated tarragon sauce and had an amazing taste. Our waiter and barman Joshua on Sunday night was an expert professional and he created some unusual delicious cocktails which we loved. We are confident that people going there would have excellent food and drink and listen to some quality music.

This place is truly special ! When I walked in , I felt like I was in an existentialist oasis ! Staff amazing , and superb musicians. We need to preserve places like this and keep supporting these businesses

User

There are many places to get great food, many places with a special ambience, and many places where you may hear live music. But to be able to pull off all three of these in top-notch fashion at the same time, well that's something special. I urge you to find your way to Toulouse Lautrec for a wonderful meal in a comfortable atmosphere, hosted by a pleasant and accommodating staff, and especially so when the magnificent International Singer-Entertainer 'Gemma Louise Doyle' is gracing the audience. You will be mesmerized by how all three of these elements will be delivered with such a remarkable precision!

User

The food and the music is some of the best you can find in London. And the owner is a great guy! I would recommend this place to everyone.

The Loft at Toulouse Lautrec is a great music room and Nolan and family have created a top class environment for Jazz and quality live music.

I chose to host my 40th birthday party in the Top Floor of the Toulouse Lautrec, and every aspect of the service I received far exceeded my expectations.

From organising the food, music, a sound engineer for my Drag act and for my guests' Lip-Sync competition, Nolan and the team at Toulouse Lautrec organised it all with a smile, and no fuss.

I found the quality and quantity of food provided as part of the catering package to be superb, and the drink prices very reasonable. My guests and I really had a fantastic time, and this was owing in very large part to the service at the TL.

Thanks guys, you really made my 40th a night to remember.

A great find a short walk from Kennington Tube, a surprise beautiful old style French restaurant across two floors complete with a Jazz Venue in the loft! Highly Recommended

User

I have been here several times over the last two and a half years- They always look after me and advise on gluten-free option (I have Coeliac disease). The venue is gorgeous- looking and I need to come for an evening when they have jazz performers.

User

Great little venue we went to watch the jazz and had the pub menu that are more like snacks. The gravy for the pork belly and Mash and sausage and Mash eas extremely salty and drinks expensive. But otherwise jazz fab.

User

I liked it but didn't love it. Maybe it's because I'm not a fan of French food, also it was a bit expensive. We paid almost £50 each for starters, mains, house wine and only half of us had dessert. My duck was a bit dry and wasn't very tasty. I think my expectations were too high and I felt a bit disappointed, especially when the bill came.

User

Great place for Jazz and food - been regular eat in and away for years.

Bit disappointed this time - service inattentive.

Promising looking special tomato starter ruined by tomatoes being far too cold.

Monkfish very well-cooked but cream sauce under-seasoned and tiny amount of veg.

A real French brasserie at Newington Butts SE11! Great food especially if u like top quality steak. Monday nights live jazz or chansons and more!

A great find a short walk from Kennington Tube, a surprise beautiful old style French restaurant across two floors complete with a Jazz Venue in the loft! Highly Recommended

I have been here several times over the last two and a half years- They always look after me and advise on gluten-free option (I have Coeliac disease). The venue is gorgeous- looking and I need to come for an evening when they have jazz performers.

Great little venue we went to watch the jazz and had the pub menu that are more like snacks. The gravy for the pork belly and Mash and sausage and Mash eas extremely salty and drinks expensive. But otherwise jazz fab.
