My name is Taner Paul Hassan

My background has primarily been in Addiction therapy & treatment for eight years. My skills range working with Anxiety, Couples Counselling, Sex Addiction, Depression, Loss & Bereavement, Anger issues & Work related Stress.

As a counsellor I have experience within the community working with multi agencies for the welfare of clients journey such as NHS, SEPT, Universities & colleges as well as dedicated counselling centres in local communities such as MIND & Victoria Counselling Service.


Why counselling?
Counselling is a safe & confidential space where you can come and explore without judgement your presenting issue /issues and decide as your own scientist what you would like to do with this knowledge. Talking & connecting thoughts and feelings together we can work through what is impacting you emotionally and how that looks in your world. Together we can discuss goals for the future and it is up to you to assess what is healthy and what is unhealthy. My role is to support the possibility of change and help you achieve your goals set in the sessions and reach your fullest potential what ever that may be!

Whether your issue is big or small we all have the right to access services to help us move forward in our lives. Walking through the door is the first and hardest step. Accepting help shows great courage , commitment and motivation which are essential ingredients required for the counselling process.

Ending the counselling sessions

It is usual for counselling to have a planned ending but the client has the right at any time to terminate the counselling and in this event as much notice as possible should be given. I may terminate counselling if, after discussion with you, it is felt that further counselling would either be inappropriate or without benefit to the client.

Confidentiality during counselling

High standards of care and confidentiality will be maintained about information concerning clients. Information about clients will usually only be communicated to others if the client has given consent. In exceptional circumstances, a counsellor may disclose confidential information to others without consent in order to protect you or others from serious harm, or when legally required to do so.

I do not and cannot provide assessments or reports to anyone outside of the session; in particular, no information can be used in any legal proceedings.

Qualifications

AQA Level 4 Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (TA, Person Centered, Psychodynamic, CBT)

AQA Level 4 Certificate in Therapeutic Counselling (Inc. Loss & Grief)

AQA Level 3 in Transactional Analysis ( TA )

AQA Level 2 in Counselling skills

AQA Level 2 in Counselling Concepts


Fees

Cost: £35 per session
Length of session: 50 minutes


Though counselling can be open ended, a guideline of 6 - 12 sessions with a review at the end is suggested.

You would normally be expected to pay for every session, however if you cannot make your appointment and no notice is given then the full fee will be charged. If 48 hours notice is given, a fee of £15 is charged. If I am on annual leave or for any reason unable to attend, no fee is charged.
