Truro, Perranporth & Tregony Police Description

Devon & Cornwall Police covers the largest geographical police area in England, extending 180 miles from the Dorset and Somerset borders in the east to the Isles of Scilly in the west.
Our policing area includes the cities of Exeter and Plymouth, popular seaside resorts such as Torquay and Newquay, and a large rural population, each of which present very different policing challenges.
The area's population is around 1. 5 million, rising to eight million with the influx of visitors in the summer months.
The force is split into three geographical areas; Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, Plymouth and Devon, each with its own commander. These areas are further broken down into sectors and neighbourhood beats which form the bases of the local policing teams. To find out more about your local police please visit our local policing team pages.

The roads policing team along with the No excuses team were out and about in Truro again on Tuesday 30th April 2019. The officers were able to target those using our roads illegally. During the operation they were able to seize 5 vehicles without insurance. 1 arrest on a fail to appear warrant. 15+ plus prosecutions for various traffic offences, 2 people dealt with for being in possession of cannabis. Various drug/alcohol tests and 1 person reported for driving without due ca...re and attention. These types of operations are vital within the force as they target those committing offences on our roads. It is not a money making exercise. They are organised to protect those using our roads and hopefully reducing serious/fatal collisions. There will be further operations planned by the Truro, Tregony and Perranporth Neighbourhood team in the near future.
