The innovative mobile game #SeaHeroQuest has found that our navigation skills depend more on where you live than your gender.
The game was developed by UCL's Prof Hugo Spiers, along with other UK Universities, to help better understand dementia by looking at how we navigate.
You can give the game a go for yourself at the #ItsAllAcademic Festival on the 15 Septemer bit.ly/2tXfKcM

In 1940 Leonard Lovelock completed his chemistry degree from UCL. Because of the Second World War, Leonard was evacuated to Aberystwyth University.
We arranged for him to graduate in full robes, and took the opportunity to hear about his experiences

It seems that the world is experiencing more and more referendums. But are they good or bad for democracy?
Come along to the Quad on 15 September to debate the idea at the #ItsAllAcademic Festival

Fire up your imagination at the #ItsAllAcademic festival with a very special event for families at the Petrie Museum.
'Shipwrecks, Sailors and Serpents.' is a fun family activity bringing to life stories from the papyri and shabti collection in the museum. Be inspired by tales of shipwreck, sailors and serpents, add your ideas and make your own shadow puppets to tell a new tale to perform live in the museum.
Tickets are limited, so book your place now. bit.ly/ovpdpetrie

In the UK, you have a 50% chance of being diagnosed with cancer at some point in your life.
Professor Charles Swanton of UCLH Hospital and The Francis Crick Institute discusses what this means – for you, for your family, for your life expectancy – and how UCL is rapidly changing the future of those living with cancer in Portico Magazine, now available online.
