Hey guys! The first day of term 3, exam period is here 😢
We’re going to make a facebook chat for people wanting to play badminton in term 3/the summer! - we can’t use courts paid for by the club as we’re not funded in term 3, so we can pay for courts and provide shuttles ourselves (shouldn’t be more than £2 each or something each time). Please like this message/message the page/send me (James) a message if you’re interested and we can set a group up!! Can’t wait to get on cou...rt again 😍

Well, what a weekend that was. Not only did the social tournament run smoothly and we had an elongated social session with 5 hours of badminton, but the competitive team beat Kings at badminton for a London title. TWICE!!!!! 🏸
This weekend saw the team victorious on Saturday in the LUSL cup, confirming their title as the best mixed team in London 😮 And that clearly wasn’t enough for them, so they decided on Sunday they’d beat Kings 9-2 in Varsity!! A huge well done to all of... the players that represented the uni in our legendary purple shirts. If you see any team players make sure to congratulate them!
Our last team training/social session is on Sunday, with speeches for committee elections at the beginning of the practice with free Pizza! Any more info on this feel free to message the page

2 of our regular Social players are taking part in RAG’s charity jailbreak event this weekend! This involves getting as far away from UCL as possible in 36 hours, with no money spent! They’re already on their way to Amsterdam 😮 Whilst doing this they’re raising money for three different charities; Single homeless project, VITAL and Maggie’s. Check out the work these charities do on their just giving page and if you can, please donate! They’re three very worthy causes. Just a little update because some dates have been changed/we have lots of things coming up!

The annual social players' tournament is on 10th March. All details, again, found on the facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/247320942 816011/ You’ll find the link to the google sheet for signup in the ‘about’ section of the event.
Also after Sunday’s practice we’ll be heading to the nearby Wetherspoons at St Pancras for some food! This is a great opportunity to ask any questions about the upcoming elections/tournament etc! Of course you can also ask the current commitee questions during the social sessions until the elections, or message them directly.

It will be random pairing (you’ll be assigned a partner) unless specified on the google sheet. Please note this is a members’ only event and we’ll be checking 😉
