Ucl Women'S Basketball

About Ucl Women'S Basketball

UCL Women's Basketball caters for all players, from beginners to experienced players. We have a competitive 1st and 2nd teams and a social team. And of course let's not forget legendary SPORTS NIGHTS and many other social events throughout the year!

Ucl Women'S Basketball Description

For those of you who will be new to UCL in September 2019, please meet us at the Fresher's Fair so you can sign up to our contact list straight away to be in the loop!

UCLU Women's Basketball is for anyone who wants to be a part of a fun and friendly international community where we all share the desire to improve our skills, train to keep fit and win games.

For the new season, training sessions will continue to be held at Somers Town Community Sports Centre (NW1 1RX).

The main training session, open to all teams, is on Mondays at 6-8pm. Expect high-intensity sessions where a focus on team-building, skills development and games will be the priority!

If you are experienced and show good potential in taster sessions, you may join the first or second team and train on Saturday mornings from 10am-12pm. This means you can play for the BUCS and LUSL teams.

Joining our society also means that you will hopefully become an active social member and join us at the union every Wednesday for Sports Night, as well as supporting the club's volunteering and charity activities.

For more information about the club and how to join, please visit:

If you would like to find out more information, please do not hesitate to contact us!

Hey everyone, hope you're all enjoying basketball so far !
We have some very exciting events coming up so listen up:
On December 16th at the London Thunderdome there will be the UK University 3on3 Championship, we participated last year and it was so much fun! You get a lot of game time therefore can practice your skills and also get involved in a competition with Unis from all over the UK.
... Here are the event details: www.thelondon3on3.co.uk And the fb page: www.facebook.com/thelondon3on3
Included in the price this year is free entry to the AfterParty so we can end the event with a bit of fun!
Since the teams consist of 5 players and it is 70 pound admission per team, the price per person will be 14 pounds.
On November 25th there will also be an open 3on3 as part of the build up to the main event, so if you can’t participate in the real event you can still go for some fun and practice!
Here is the fb page: https://www.facebook.com/events/126910328 026008/?ti=icl
So we can get an idea for numbers can you please say whether you are interested in going to the first and/or second event in the poll please !

Hi everyone! Thank you for coming to our final trials today. Our president, captain and coach have discussed the team and we’re close to a final decision. It’s been very difficult to make this decision and we had to take into account a lot of factors, including skill and availability for practices and games.
As we’ve mentioned before, this is not a final list and if people are not committed and working hard on the competitive team, they will be bumped down to the social team.... Whereas if you’re on the social team and you’re working hard and improving, there is a chance of being bumped up to the competitive team. The best way for you to do this is to talk to our coach, Prisque, and ask for feedback and any reasons why you haven’t made it onto the competitive team this time.
Below there is a list for the competitive team, as well as a shortlist of people that we haven’t yet decided on. We’re asking both to come to conditioning training this Thursday 5-6pm and the taster session on Saturday 10-12am (both at Somers Town Community Sports Centre). Our coach will then make his decision on who has made the competitive team by Saturday night. If you have any questions about this contact Monica Cirstet or Carolina Nygren.
COMPETITIVE TEAM
Pallas Yiu Agathe Blondy Andrea Zárate Villacrés Anastasia Jung Monica Cirstet Carolina Nygren Belen Alonso Belen Sola Barrado Margaux Smith Roos Butot Maeva Yrio Irene Salvadores Natal
SHORTLIST

Thank you again to everyone. We are looking to have a strong recreational team playing in our LUSL team, as well as a strong competitive team in BUCS. We’re looking forward to this year!

Thank you to all of you that came to our trials today. There was a lot of skill shown. We have a very limited number of places on the competitive team, so we are looking for those who are fully committed to trainings and games, as well as highly skilled in the sport.
I know it will be disappointing for those who don't make the competitive team, but remember that if you are committed to Saturday trainings and LUSL games, there is always the chance of being bumped up to the co...mpetitive team throughout the year.
Make sure you all come on Monday and PLAY AS HARD AS YOU CAN, this is when we'll be making the final decision on the team. Also, DO NOT buy any basketball memberships from the student's union website until we tell you to!
Looking forward to seeing you on Monday.

Come down to Somers Town CSC tonight for what promises to be another epic home game, this time against City University!
This is going to be an extra special match because it's Pride In Sports week, so bring out your rainbow scarves, laces, hair bobbles, underpants and braces to show your support and lighten up our dreary sports hall! And if you have any loose pennies, bring them along -- we'll be collecting for the charity Stonewall. See you all there! 💜❤️🏀💛💚💙
