Uol Tennis Description
The University of Leicester Tennis Club welcomes players of all levels. Whether youāre an advanced player looking to compete, intermediate, playing for leisure or have never even held a racquet before, weāll cater to all your tennis needs.
UoL Tennis is one of the most established mixed gender sporting clubs at the University. With qualified coaches, fitness sessions and competitive teams, the Club can provide every opportunity for any player, from beginner to advanced.
The Club trains at Manor Road Sports Centre, where we have 3 savannah and 8 hard courts for our personal use. We also have indoor courts at our disposal at Carisbrooke LTC.
Our schedule (all at Manor Road except where otherwise stated):
Mondays 8pm - 10pm: Team Training, Carisbrooke Tennis Club
Tuesdays 6pm - 8pm: Victoria Park Courts, All Abilities
Wednesday 2pm - 5pm: Roger Bettles Sport Centre, All Abilities
Thursdays 7pm - 9pm: Roger Bettles Sport Centre, Higher Intermediate and Team
Friday 12am-2pm: Victoria Park Courts, Beginners
Saturdays 2pm - 5pm: Roger Bettles Sport Centre, All Abilities
Sundays 9am - 11am: Courts Booked for Free Usage
There are a number of exciting ways to get involved competitively, with our numerous intra-member tournaments, local league fixtures against local clubs, as well as BUCS league fixtures against other universities. We also run Timed Tennis tournaments throughout the year as well as a club championships and much more!
Match days are Wednesdays for the BUCS fixtures and weekends /week-nights for Local League fixtures. We currently have 2 MenĀ“s BUCS teams and 1 WomenĀ“s, as well as 2 local league MenĀ“s teams (both Winter and Summer) and 1 women's team.
The club is made up of friendly members, thereās always a good vibe and some banter on the courts. Weāll provide you with numerous opportunities to engage socially off court with other members, through our wide range of socials on Union nights out and tennis related day trips to events such as Wimbledon.
We have a very enthusiastic committee this year, so the Club will flourish with an increased and varied membership.

SEMESTER 2 RETRIALS - 2-4pm at Roger Bettles Tennis courts in oadby! Get down there so you dont miss out on the chance to get on one of our teams for the rest of the year!
... ALL ABILITIES SESSION (running as normal) 2-4pm at Victoria Park courts - if you dont fancy trying out for the teams but still want to whack a few balls about make sure you get down to enjoy Kyles session!

A bit later than intend but time is now up for entries to the UoL Tennis Australian Open Sweepstake! Thank you to everyone who has entered!
The draw will be taking place shortly. The way it will work is all the names will be put into a random number generator, randomising 4 times before the final randomising confirms which seed you get.

We hope youŌĆÖve had a wonderful festive period! WeŌĆÖve got a fun event to kick off 2019! We are going to be holding an Australian Open Sweepstake!
This sweepstake will only consider the 32 seeded players for the Mens and Womens singles draw. You can enter either or both draws but can only enter each draw once. The Aussie Open kicks off on the 14th January 2019 and our sweepstake will be drawn the day before on the 13th January 2019. This draw with be random so n...o bagsies on particular players!
If your player wins youŌĆÖll get ┬Ż20 + a tube of Head ATP Balls!!! If your player makes the final you receive ┬Ż10.
Entry for one draw costs ┬Ż3 but you can enter both draws for ┬Ż5!

Well done today teams, some great tennis and a good end to our first semester of BUCS this academic year. Sadly a 4-2 loss for MenŌĆÖs 1st against Loughborough 3rd. WomenŌĆÖs won 5ŌĆō1 against Warwick 2nds!! ¤ÄŠ Now some fun to be had at our Christmas meal ¤ź│¤Ää Thank you all for a great first term of tennis!
Nearing the end of term now with only two Wednesdays to go (sad times). Today we have the MenŌĆÖs 1sts playing LoughboroughŌĆÖs 3rd team. The boys have been so close so many times this term can they close it out today?? The ladies are playing Warwick 2nds in a bid to stay in the top 3 of the league!! For those of you not playing a match today get yourself down to Oadby for some practice to get match ready!! Good luck to all!!!
