Welcome to my Facebook page!
I have always loved making things. As a child my dad used to buy me Dryad making kits (anyone remember those?), and I was always Fimo modelling, screen printing, baking cakes, and experimenting with different techniques. I love colour and pattern, fabric, wood and paper.
Verity's is the way in which I express my creativity these days. I get a real thrill out of the transformation paint can give to an old piece of furniture and of finding ways to 'quirk' it up a bit.

I’m working on a commission piece this week at a clients house. These are built in MDF units she’s had made (very well!) and the brief was a faux wood effect in beachy colours. I’ve gone for a base of old white, tonal highlights with French linen and a glaze made up of Svenska blue mixed with Matt lacquer. I’m pleased with how it’s coming on. Such a fabulous couple of days spent at a paint pro workshop with Sarah and Jonathon. I met a wonderful group of like minded creatives and learned a whole heap of stuff. Thank you guys 😘🥰

We are back from the most amazing weekend festival in my brother and sister in laws garden! It was fantastic! I made them this sign inspired by Perry at Dovetails Vintage (fellow Annie Sloan stockists). Handmade and hand painted (I image transferred the small lettering but hand painted the rest). I was rather pleased with it and so were they!
This beautiful Welsh dresser made its way back home today after its makeover and my client was super pleased, which in turn makes me super pleased 😁

A few work in progress shots from this lovely kitchen dresser that I’m working on for a customer - Svenska Blue with a wash of Old White. I just love that chalk paint texture!
Work at the The Paint Studio is keeping me super busy and the new year has kicked off well with plenty of workshops and involvement with the artists community at Hylands Artist Studios. I still take on commissions and have just finished this little transformation. Simply Annie Sloan Paris Grey, clear wax and dark wax to the top and drawer knobs to bring the pine in line with the coffee table. Do get in touch if you have anything you'd like to give a new lease of life to.
