We know it’s quite hard for everyone at the moment and there’s a lot of worry over social media so to spread some fun we’ve decided to run an online pet show where we will be hosting a number of categories for you and all of your pets to take part in🐩🦜🐈🐇🐀🦎
🏆The first class will be announced on Friday at 10am and if you would like to enter you just need to post a photo of your pet in the comments on that post. The winners will then be dec...ided by 1st 2nd and 3rd place and you are all encouraged to please ‘like’ the photos to help determine our finalists who will then be entered into our Best in Show category at the end 🏆
⏰Classes close at 7pm each day with the winners being announced at 9pm. ⏰
🐾Just a reminder that this is only a bit of fun and the prizes are virtual rosettes, no physical prizes will be offered. 🥇🥈🥉

During this stressful time for not only us but our pets, teach them something new! It’s important to keep your pets mind occupied and training is a good opportunity for bonding with your friend.
🎾 Make learning fun. Your pet will respond much more quickly, and if you do make mistakes your pet will not be afraid of trying again. If your pet does make a mistake it is your fault. Try again, but this time ensure you are in a position to help your pet to get it right.
🎾Keep sess...ions short (about two minutes) and practise about five to six times every day Practise in different areas, for example in different areas of the house or in the garden, but keep distractions to a minimum until your pet understands your requests
🐾When to reward:
– all the time for the right movements – then for the whole action – then for best attempts
🐾Rewards can be: – food (this can be part of your dog’s dinner or small treats) – praise – a toy or game
Remember it is only a reward if your dog wants it.

⚠️URGENT UPDATE PLEASE READ⚠️
As people in the veterinary profession, it is our job to protect your animals health and welfare. However, following the governments advice yesterday, to protect our clients and staff, we are limiting our consultations for emergency and urgent cases only.
Our opening times from today are 8:30am-5:00pm, until further notice.
... We are only offering non-contact consultations, upon arrival. See below:
1) We ask that you contact the practice from your car and the vet will then take a history over the phone. 2) Once this is done, we will ask you to come into the waiting room, and a vet or a nurse will collect your pet from you, and you return to your car. 3) The vet will carry out an examination on your pet, and you will be contacted with the findings and a treatment plan. 4) Then you will be asked to pay over the phone, and to come back into the waiting to collect your pet.
We are offering over the phone, FaceTime, Skype and messenger calls to clients that are self-isolating, or pets that we feel need to be seen, but not physically. These will be a £30 consultation charge.
We will be contacting clients that have appointments already booked with us, so we can postpone and you will be placed on a waiting list.
With regards to flea and worm treatment and other prescription medications, we are asking clients to pay over the phone when ordering and we will book a time slot for you to come and collect your order. This will be left in a box labelled “Medications to Collect” at reception.
In order to keep our staff as safe as possible, so we can continue to treat you pets, you will not be seeing our receptionists on the front desks.
Please bear with us whilst we are introducing these new changes. We expect our phone lines to be very busy, if it’s not an emergency you can email us on Abingdon@vets4pets.com with your enquiry, and we will be in contact with you as soon as possible.
