A very small number of animals, around the world, have tested positive. However, have they not have had the disease in a form which was clinically relevant or transmissible. Whilst these are concerning times, we want to reassure you that there is no evidence that pets play a role in the spread of COVID-19. Infectious disease experts and multiple human & animal health organisations agree there is no evidence that pets can spread the disease to people.
The British Veterinary As...sociation have today (8th April 2020) advised the following ‚ÄúWe are not advising that all cats are kept indoors. Only cats from infected households or where their owners are self-isolating, and only if the cat is happy to be kept indoors. Some cats cannot stay indoors due to stress-related medical reasons. There have been a tiny number of cases of Covid-19 in animals and in all cases, it is likely that the transmission was human to animal. There is no evidence that pets can pass Covid-19 to their owners.‚ÄĚ Then main risk of transmission is from other people, not through pets, so please continue to adopt government and NHS advice. It is always sensible to wash your hands after handling your pets, and we continue to advise this. More advice is available on the government website - https://www.gov.uk/‚Ķ/coronavirus-covid- 19-advice-for-people‚Ķ

On Saturday we had an adult female tabby cat brought into the practice believed to be involved in a road traffic accident. She was found on Harlaxton Road and wasn’t microchipped or wearing a collar.
Unfortunately the cat is deceased but we would like to reunite her with her owner if possible. However due to the current restrictions we will be holding the body until we have further guidance surrounding covid-19. Following this we will then be allowing identification of the body if you think she may belong to you. Please contact us on on 01476 571773.

ūüĆüPrescription medications, flea, worm and complete care productsūüĆü
To our valued pets and owners:
At Vets4Pets Grantham we are committed to playing our part responsibly in the management of the current crisis. We are placing ourselves firmly under government guidelines and those provided by our governing body at the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
... This is leading us to make some difficult decisions, but we know you will understand that we must ensure our best efforts are applied to looking after you, our colleagues such that the practice is still able to function with a healthy team and therefore still look after your pets.
During current restrictions with covid, we are still able to provide your ongoing prescription needs for your pets as they are considered essential under current guidelines. Flea and worm products will be included within this only where an animal is proven to have an active parasite burden via remote photo or video as with our current consult procedure.
In order to help with flattening the exposure curve to covid we are asking you follow the current procedure to collect your medicines 1) Call to order products required 2) Pay over the phone prior to collection 3) Call to advise us when you would like to collect your product 4) Your product will be placed in a sealed plastic container outside the backdoor of the practice for you to collect.
For our complete care clients: We are looking at the best ways to maintain our service provision to you in the face of your ongoing payments. We are today looking at options to provide a courier service to deliver your product to you as we cannot permit collection in light of the products being prophylactic only. This was a tough decision to make but was made in light of our responsibility to provide essential services only and minimise unnecessary travel in the population.
We will be able to confirm the service tomorrow once launched. The service will be subject to a £6 fee for courier service to provide three months of your product. It is hoped according to government statements that by this time we hope service provision to have returned to normal and as such the fee should be a one off.
We appreciate the frustrations the current restrictions are causing for our service provision to you. We are able to still provide you with any non routine essential care for your pets. In order to do this though, we must ensure that our team is able to be here for you and therefore must follow current guidelines.
We are always at the end of the phone to talk and our commitment to your pets and their welfare still remains at the core of what we are here to do. We are immensely grateful to have such a committed team of pet owners under our care and wish you all well.

‚ö†ÔłŹCOVID-19 Update‚ö†ÔłŹ
ūüö®We are open for emergencies only.
We wanted to thank all of our clients for helping us with the new measures we have had to put into place during this uncertain time.
... We have been instructed that we are now only to provide an emergency service to help protect us all and try and reduce the spread of Covid-19.
We would be grateful for your continued support and contact the surgery if you have any appointments or procedures booked for your pet. We are trying to make contact with everyone but often are needing to leave messages.
For those clients with appointments;
‚ě°ÔłŹ We ask clients to phone in and speak to the vet or nurse, who will confirm whether or not they need to be seen and at what time.
‚ě°ÔłŹ Patients will need to come around the back of the practice and follow the procedure we already have in place.
‚ě°ÔłŹ ALL payments need to be made by card. No cash will be accepted.
These measures have been put in place for our client’s health, as well as our team’s health. Please consider for your safety and our team if you need to make the trip to us.
** If your pet is due their 2nd vaccination during the 3 week window of lockdown that the government have implemented please contact the surgery for more information on 01476 571773**

ūüĆü**Latest COVID-19 Practice Update**ūüĆü
From tomorrow, we will not be allowing any clients on practice premises.
This doesn't mean our practice is closing we are just trying to limit contact between us all for everyone's safety.
... If patients do need to come in for assessment, we will make arrangements for them to be brought around the back of the practice, where they will be handed over to a team member. Once you arrive for your appointment please call the practice number 01476571773 so we can mark you as arrived.
The consult will be conducted over the phone, where the clinical assessment will be made, treatments and medications discussed. Payment will be taken over the phone.
We will not be accepting any walk ins. This applies to medication collection, including flea and worming treatment, as well as appointments. You MUST phone us prior to coming into the practice. There are no shortages of medications so there is no need to panic buy. There will be the option to have certain medications posted out, but be aware this may incur a fee.
If you have shown any signs of respiratory illness, we ask that you do not come into the practice. Please follow the guidelines for self-isolation as set out by the government.
https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus -covid-19
We are still open for business, and our business is to look after sick pets. This may mean that routine appointments may be asked to be postponed. Each case will be judged individually. This way we can still be available to look after your fur babies throughout the crisis.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. We ask that you work alongside us during these difficult times.
Stay safe and thank you for your continued support.

Your pets health and well-being remains at the heart of everything that we do, and we are working hard during this worrying time to continue to be able do that. With this in mind we have had to make the decision to postpone non urgent procedures and appointments. We understand that this may cause some disappointment but appreciate the support we've received.
If you do have an appointment with us and you are self isolating, please give the practice a call so we can rearrange ...it for you.
To help us continue to provide our service, our priority is also to keep our colleagues as safe as possible, which means minimising the spread of any virus within our practices. As a veterinary care provider, upholding outstanding hygiene levels is part of our daily life and we regularly carry out clinical deep cleans as standard within the practice.
If you are attending the practice we ask that you please continue to help us by taking note of the policies in place.

ūüĆüUPDATEDūüĆü
‚ú®Coronavirus update‚ú®
In light of the progressing coronavirus situation, we are looking to ensure the safety of our clients and colleagues at this time and are implementing some control measures as of today:
... Please do not attend the surgery if you:
- have been confirmed or are suspected of having covid-19 - have been in close contact with anyone confirmed or suspected to have covid-19 - you or a member of your household have travelled recently to China, Iran, Korea or Italy - have been under self isolation for covid-19 - are experiencing symptoms consistent with covid 19 (fever, sore throat, cough)
We will be delaying routine appointments and surgeries such as neutering, boosters, weight checks etc for the time being. We will still be going ahead with any appointments and surgeries we have booked currently but for any new appointments requested over the phone, will be made for a later date unless urgent. But please be aware for any future or current appointments we may have to ring you to rearrange for a later date.
We are encouraging our elderly clients to consider avoiding attending the clinic unless necessary but will place no restriction on you doing so provided you do not fall under any of the above criteria.
Should you attend the practice please hand sanitise on arrival and wear disposable non latex gloves for the duration of your visit. You will find these on the desk at reception.
For the time being we will only be accepting card payments ideally contactless where possible.
We kindly request that only one owner per patient attend the practice.
Thank you in advance for cooperating with these measures during your visit ūüėä
