Whilst having fabulous meal at the Vicky last night I learnt that they make everything (except the bread) from scratch, ice cream, chips (peeled cut and fried 3 times) and sticky toffee pudding. A fine establishment.

What a meal the scotch egg starter is to die for,the Rib Eye was cooked to perfection the staff really looked after us great place to have family time well worth a visit.

We held a joint first birthday last weekend upstairs and hired the room.

Cannot thank you enough! Really lovely experience. smart, clean spacious room, great bar, two lovely waitresses and great food. you supplied the music and kids matts and toys and we brought in our own cake and balloons.

The beer is London prices. However it was top quality. The staff are friendly and incredibly helpful. A throng of metal heads turning up after a Deftones gig at Alexander Palace, didn't put them off their stride either. Seems a great place to take a date out for dinner. Couldn't recommend it more. And thanks for sorting our taxi out: lost Northerners and all that :-)

The Vicky stakes has been my local for 20 years & currently has some of the best management I have seen there. The food is excellent & the monthly comedy night upstairs is well worth attending!!

Ok so I promised this - we are not local but this place was recommended as we were just a stones throw away going to attend Lorde gig at Ally Pally that evening and we asked a local couple to recommend somewhere nice to eat . So 10 mins walk later we arrived to be told they weren't serving food at that time when we asked at the bar ! �. However as I left I made an out loud comment which Ben over heard and followed us out of the pub , we explained our predicament and he welcomed us back in and offered us food ! It is without a shadow of a dout the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE I've ever experienced ( and in past lives I hope I've given plenty ) the food was great and yes Ben that was a great crème brûlée and the shortbread was excellent . So if you are ever in north London and need a good meal go to the Victoria Stakes �

Had my daughter’s birthday party today upstairs at Victoria Stakes and was a great success - gorgeous room, great food for both kids and adults, lovely service (thanks Josh) and would highly recommend!

Food, staff, atmosphere is just perfect! Couldn’t fault!

Best service we have ever received (and food great too)! Ate here for the first time this evening. When my steak- ordered medium rare- arrived medium well, the waitress, manager and chef were incredibly apologetic and gracious. Insisted on re-doing my husbands food as well so his would come out together with mine and offered drinks on the house. Whilst we were waiting they also presented us with a complimentary starter! When food arrived it was fantastic. Staff was so apologetic we joked that they were close to recreating the Monty Python 'dirty fork' sketch! Would definitely come again!

Ben & Lucy do a great job in our local pub. The staff they employ give a great welcome to everyone and should be commended for their friendliness and professionalism. The food (especially the burgers) is great too. Mumford and Freda, the pub dogs, are stars too!!

Absolutely the best pub around the Muswell Hill / Crouch End area. We are so glad it is back in action after the fire. From great food to relaxed atmosphere, you can't go wrong with Victoria Stakes, especially on a Sunday after visiting the Ally Pally Farmer's Market. #PerfectSunday.

Very attentive staff in the restaurant at the back, which is a great place for a lazy afternoon of chilling and eating. Slight mix up that was dealt with very well and was made up for thoroughly. They know the importance of good customer service. Would recommend and visit again.

Philip the Bar Man, is super wonderful.. So nice, friendly, gets you......Wine always chilled, kind service, the man is a Genius xx Love him.



The food is good, however the plating is a bit strange. The steak was fantastic, although I think they could have provided veg as well as chips at £24.00

Lovely attentive staff. We went for Sunday lunch. The only thing was the lack of choice. If you’re a nut allergy vegetarian you’ve had it! What we did eat was delicious and plentiful.

This was the second time we have been. The first time was amazing Sunday lunch. Yesterday disappointing and steak poor. No Valentine's evening atmosphere whatsoever either

Worst fish & chips ever! When I complained about the fact that my small, fish finger size fish was in fact more batter than fish, I was informed that the decision was recently taken to reduce fish portion sizes and type (Hake to Coley) for the Tuesday fish & chips and desert deal. If you're not looking to reward your loyal customers with a genuine offer then perhaps a rethink is necessary. Although our waiter bought us out a couple more 'fish fingers' the point was entirely lost. I phoned 3 times in the days following my visit asking to speak to the manager and at time of writing I am still awaiting my call back. . . .
