We are delighted to be named top of the table in Which? Research with a score of 88%.
Which? said “Viking has gone straight into the number one spot, and its five-star small ships and first class excursions come in at a more modest price than the flashier luxury brands”.
We'd like to thank all of our past guests and Which? readers who completed the survey.

We have travelled along the Danube, Seine, Rhine, Garonne+ Dordogne, Douro, Elbe, Maine and Rhone with Viking River Cruises, and cruised from Istanbul to Venice, Rome to Barcelona via Sicily + Sardinia, Bergen to Montreal, Barcelona to Rome via Toulon + Monaco on Viking Star and Viking Sea. We are really looking forward to the Viking Imperial Jewels of China in October, Viking Turquoise Seas Miami and Mexico in January on Viking Sky, a Viking Italian Sojourn on the Star in April and will be discovering Australia + New Zealand on Viking Spirit in January 2019. We would never consider travelling with any other cruise line - and I think that says it all!!

User

We have been on 2 river cruises and they were excellent - well organised, interesting and luxurious.

User

Truly amazing - it would be impossible to better them - they go the extra mile on everything - unbelievable staff who are always smiling, fantastic accommodation, terrific food and so much choice and the tours they organise are excellent with great English speaking guides.

User

The service is impeccable, the organisation is amazing ! But more importantly the staff and the travellers are really lovely people. See the world with new friends!

User

The best cruises ever, wonderful service, on our Rhine cruise we even saw the captain help the crew on with provisions. Dedicated staff. The waiting staff very quickly remembered our preference for wine. Couldn't fault any part of out cruise.

Can't wait to go again.

My 3rd Viking River Cruise in April. Rhine getaway. Fabulous in everyway, although my favourite is still St Petersburg to Moscow.

User

Loved our Viking Cruise which was part of a wonderful if tiring holiday in China. I had a birthday while I was on board & was presented with a cake & the crew sang Happy Birthday.

They go the extra mile to make sure everything goes smoothly leaving you to enjoy the holiday. Wonderful cocktails perfect for an evening sailing along the Yangtze.

I've been on 3 river cruises so far for 3 years running. I've never had such relaxing and enjoyable holidays. Would thoroughly recommend a Viking trip to anyone. The Rhine is amazingly beautiful with sights to behold. The Danube took our breath away with it's splendour, and the Seine was incredible. I can't wait for next years trip down the Rhone to marvel at the wonders of the South of France!!!

I went on my first Viking river cruise in November. The Magnificent Meekong The whole experience was magnificent . We were well looked after from leaving my front door. The trips were well thought out and done at a pace that allowed us to relax whilst seeing many places. Our guide Lee is a total assest and and very caring. This was truly THE BEST holiday I have experienced and have already booked a tour for next year. The hotels were of a high standard , the trips were both entertaining and educational. Did I mention Lee, oh of course I did , worth his weight in gold, gentle, organised, well informed and knowledgeable. The ship was well run with Dominic there to assist with our needs. Thank you

I only think of going, I would love to go on a viking cruise sailing from London on the Thames would be great ,got any deals for solo traveller

Have just come back from the Grand European tour, a special trip for our 25th wedding anniversary. It was pure luxury from the moment we got on the coach at the airport. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff were excellent, the ship was wonderful and even when we had to switch ships due to low water it was a seamless process. Our Program Director, Joey was a real character and made the trip come alive with his stories and anecdotes. He had a hard job but coped brilliantly. I hope we get the chance to cruise again! Thank you Viking!

First time on Viking on a transatlantic to Miami from Lisbon (Viking Sun) as a guest speaker. Never had a better experience on a cruise ship of any line.... (And I've enjoyed all of them). Fantastic facilities and wonderfully professional and helpful staff and crew. Keep up the good work Viking!

Just returned from the Romantic Danube cruise from Nuremberg to Budapest on the Viking Var. It was an amazing experience. Just a couple of problems. 1st we landed in Munich Friday afternoon then put in a car for a two and a half hour ride to Nuremberg. When talking to other passengers they were flown from Munich to Nuremberg. So we arrived on board just in time for dinner didnt have time to shower or freshen up. 2nd before we left our booking was changed from a French Balcony stateroom to a standard stateroom that was below the waterline (which we were not informed about). It was a case of downgrading or going in November. So we took the down grade because November would have been to cold. It was noisy at night and we had a few sleepless nights which had a knock on effect for the following day because we were feeling tired. But all in all we had a good time staff were friendly, polite and very helpful. Food was excellent and the excursions were good all though some were very expensive. On the included excursions though they could have been more informative and we were given to much time for people to shop. Would probably go again but would have to make sure I had better accommodation and the transfers were better suited as I find travelling difficult because I have osteoarthritis.

User

having been on two river cruises with viking that we absolutely loved so we booked a Caribbean cruise but went down with the flu two days before we were to sail so the doctor said that we couldn't go as we would pass it on to the other passengers phoned viking to say we couldn't go so they cancelled our trip so far we haven't had any correspondent from them or the offer of a voucher for a future trip to make up for our lost holiday we now have to try to get our money back from the insurance company

User

Over-priced for what they provide. There are other companies out there who are just as good but at half the price. No more Viking for us. We're going back to Riviera.

User

Having enjoyed a superb Rhine River Cruise with Viking the special re-positioning cruise offer on Viking Sky seemed too good to resist. And the cruise was very enjoyable, thanks mainly to the lovely people we met, the mostly excellent staff and very friendly crew. The Sky is a pleasant ship but nothing really special, very clean and comfortable staterooms (we were in 6065) but very limited storage space. Lovely bathroom but overall stateroom seems small. Sadly we had to avoid the planned visit to St Maartan but the 8 days at sea were ok and passed quickly. Funchal, Cadiz and Valencia visits very well organised and worth doing . Entertainment Director Aaron, his assistant Ian and the Viking Band were terrific and the Virginian Gentlemen A Cappella group were superb and as a group of young men, a credit to their university and country. Rest of entertainment was mixed - atrium performers very good, main theatre just about ok although the performers tried very hard. But they are a small group and expected to do too much.

Main restaurants had limited menus but plenty of food, great service and house wines ok. One big disappointment. Although we paid for a Silver Drinks package we we charged $25 when the waiter entered a bottle instead of a glass on our bill. In spite of the ships Customer Service agent promising to correct this, I had to get the London office to send me a refund which arrived very quickly. Thanks Ben.

We will continue with Viking River cruises (booked Ukraine for August), but not sure about Viking Ocean.

My parents have just returned from the Romantic Danube cruise on the viking Tor. A couple of problems. 1st was their room was below waterline , it was noisy at night and had a few sleepless nights which effected them the following day due to them being tired. 2 ) Before they left they received an email about the Danube River is experiencing low water level. I understand that this is out of anyone control but the email continues to reassure them that viking has extensive experience in dealing with situation similar to this and a mid-cruise swap to an identical sister ship might be necessary. THIS DID NOT HAPPEN. Instead they had 2 days of bus journeys because there was NO sister ship for them which totally ruined their experience. Nothing about bus journey was in the email so it was quite a shock.
