We visited the Covent Garden restaurant on a busy bank holiday Monday. We don’t have a wahaca in Newcastle so I couldn’t wait to try this restaurant. It didn’t disappoint. The service was spot on and the food very tasty and different to your traditional Mexican restaurant. As they cook the food from fresh your food just arrives when it is ready so you could get your main the same time as your starter but that didn’t bother me. Loved it

After waiting 10 minutes and making eye contact with every staff including supervisors, someone finally come to take my order. I saw that happening with others tables around me as well. Food was just ok, wanted to order a drink after my food arrived but nobody came back to check on me. Waited a few more minutes and the bill finally came, but had to wait other few minutes to finally pay, even tho I had my credit card sitting on the table. This place in convent garden may be new and the staff is still learning how to manage the restaurant, but when even the supervisors don’t acknowledge you just sitting there it is just bad management. I don’t think I will come back!

Another branded restaurant that’s always packed despite being decidedly sub par! Three friends and I visited your ‘restaurant’ on Wardour St on Friday night, with fond memories of good meals with you 4+ years ago. Oh how things have gone downhill. Firstly service it the bar downstairs was beyond terrible, two of the slowest bar tenders in the world, more interested in talking and playing tricks on each other than serving customers. When we were eventually seated at a table, our food came fairly quickly, and our server was okay, though I personally don’t like the US style writing on the menu sheet with a crayon. The food itself was so bad we felt compelled to complain, resulting in three dishes being removed from our bill. You really need to look at your beef, all the steak dishes were inedible. We won’t be returning.

6 of us dined at wahaca yesterday Service utterly shocking . Food orders wrong ,half of the party eating while the others just watched as there food failed to appear, food orders came out wrong , inattentive waitress who could not be bothered . Staff seemed more interested in chatting amongst themselves than actually doing a good job . When I complained at the end and said I was not going to pay service charge due to poor service the two front of house staff began to roll there eyes at us, look over ,laughing and smirking at us even my 8 year old daughter picked up on this disgusting behaviour . I do not appreciate being intimidated by your staff for making a complaint that was rightfully justified . I suggest you give you staff some customer service training . So utterly disappointed in wahaca south bank I will not be returning .
