Situated in a secluded, historic English walled garden, set in lush Hertfordshire countryside, surrounded by farmland, is this tranquil retirement livery yard.
We offer full livery all year round with individual, brand new stables, daily turnout and an all inclusive package.
We also have our own 40m x 20m school and a classroom for hire.

Equine Influenza has made it's way to Hertfordshire and after last years local Strangles outbreak, we are taking no chances. We are closing the yard to non essential visitors and asking anyone that does have to visit to observe bio-security measures. This outbreak is affecting both vaccinated and unvaccinated horses (those vaccinated and carrying can still transmit the virus). We are lucky to be in a fairly remote location but it is also an airborne virus, so in our opinion it is better to be safe than sorry. We will also not be able to accept new admissions during this time. It may seem extreme at this present moment but we need to know we are trying our best to protect our yard from exposure and the possible spread of this outbreak.
Lovely day at the Household Cavalry museum. Up close with the soldiers, steeds, grooms and farrier. Amazed to learn that their farriers make the shoes from straight bars. Our farriers buy pre formed shoes. Just saying..! 😉
This weekend has been triumphant with this lad. He’s a quiet boy so we’ve copied his demeanour and are making great progress. Learning what the army say and do has helped and we now use different words, like ‘halt’ instead of ‘stand.’ All little changes we can do to make his transition easier. He has worked hard this weekend but taken it all in his stride, no argument, no battle, just listened to what we asked of him and delivered his best. Tonight we felt confident with his ...progress, tacked him up and got on board! He was tricky at the mounting block, but perseverance (and treats) worked. We started just laying across his back and walking round, then when we felt him relax we slowly mounted. Just a walk round (with a novice jockey I must add) and he was a star! We will always remind ourselves that this horse was retired from the Household Cavalry as dangerously unsuitable for parade work and that he is cold backed, but we are chuffed with his progress so far and look forward to a long future with him.
