Warren House

About Warren House

Warren House is one of the finest meeting venues in Britain, dedicated to conferences and training, weddings, events, afternoon tea's and private dining

Warren House Description

Warren House is a 19th Century privately owned manor house which is perfect for meetings, conferences, afternoon tea's, private events and weddings.

The house was built in 1865 by Hugh Hammersley when he purchased 16 acres of land from the Duke of Cambridge. Sometime in the 1870's he also purchased the neighboring Coombe Nursery which had been owned by Vietch & Sons. This land was famous for its many rare specimens of flowering trees, shrubs and it's Japanese Watergardens. This unique garden is thought to be the oldest Japanese garden in existense in the British Isles. Today the Japanese garden forms part of the grounds of the neighboring Watergardens development.

After Hugh Hammersley's death in 1880, Warren House stood empty until 1884, when it was purchased by George Grenfell Glyn and it changed hands several times until General Sir Arthur Paget.

We were fortunate enough to have our wedding at Warren House in December. At any time of year, even deepest December, it’s a beautiful setting, outside and inside (the bridal suite is stunning). What sets Warren House apart though, is not its setting, but its service. Our wedding planner, Tannaz, was excellent throughout, despite being challenged with turning the event around in eight weeks. Our wedding was a small one, with 25 people, but we were never made to feel like our event was any less important than a bigger affair. The whole team was very friendly, supportive, and ‘on it’; they were very well briefed and carried out our plan without a hitch, even though the wedding took place between Christmas and New Year. Even our guests commented on the excellent service and the fact their glasses were never empty!

The food was one of the key reasons for choosing Warren House over other venues and it didn’t disappoint. The beef was excellent and different dietary requirements were well catered for. And there has to be a special mention for the tomato consommé canapes, which were the surprise hit of the day!

Despite living in the area for more than a decade, I had no idea Warren House was there until we started wedding planning. Now we know about it, we’ll be going back again soon for afternoon tea.

We had an absolutely lovely wedding at Warren House in June 2017. The day was absolutely perfect from start to end, beautiful location, stunning grounds. Throughout the day and in the run up to the wedding - no ask was too much for the team who went out of their way to make our wedding feel special and very personal. Many thanks for a wonderful day!

We had afternoon tea which was excellent. The staff were lovely. We also received a phone call in the morning asking as it was such a lovely day would we like to sit outside which we did overlooking the garden. Would definitely go again

Victorian splendour, comfortable & welcoming. Bedrooms are large & warm. Very handy for West London & Richmond and excellent value. I love the fact that I don't have to pay £60 to park my car overnight and breakfast is great. Restaurant is smart but relaxed, food is fresh, menu isn't massive but plenty of choice. Staff work hard to serve & please. I've stayed here twice in the last month & it's a superb find.

This is the second time I have been to Warren House for afternoon tea, and I wasn't disappointed. The afternoon tea is lovely, and the cakes and sandwiches are to die for. The service is excellent and the staff are polite, friendly, efficient and attentive. We wanted for nothing. This will always be my first choice for afternoon tea.

The most incredible setting, ambience, food and service was magnificent! Everything was five star and has the most incredible regal setting. Thank you. We will be back!

My sister took me here for a Birthday Tea.

Staff were very attentive, food was very good and you can have/try as many tea's as you like. Lovely setting and you can walk around the gardens afterwards.

Will go again.

My husband and I did the garden tour yesterday (21st June) and it was very interesting. We got to me Vicky who wrote the book about Warren House who gave us a brief history of the previous owners of the house. Then Dan who deals with the gardens gave us a tour of the gardens and explained the plants there. After the talk, we were given refreshments and pastries which was nice. We have done many things at Warren House from afternoon to dinner, from Christmas to renewing our wedding vows last year. I would highly recommend a visit to Warren House, you always get a warm welcome from the staff.

My friend and I booked at last minute the nt before for afternoon tea the following day at Warren House ...and we were certainly not disappointed ..i am very fussy with sandwiches ie fillings...the waitress was very nice & attentive and none of my requests did she bat an eyelid too....but dealt with my requests professionally and nothing was a problem ... the afternoon tea was scrumptious we both loved it ...the sandwiches, mini scones & beautiful cakes (but was far too full to eat only managed 1 macaroon) which was a right shame !!! Oh yes what i thought was lovely and qaint the 3 way egg timer to distinguish on how long you leave your tea leaves to brew yellow = weak; green = medium & black = strong tea ... never seen one before felt well posh ...beautiful setting & lovely dini g area / furniture, staff very nice & friendly & professional ...would definitely recommend...

Lovely Afternoon Tea at Warren House. They were very accommodating as I'm vegan and had called before - had freshly made vegan scones and they had made a real effort! It was a lovely atmosphere, beautiful grounds and helpful, attentive staff.

Warren House is located in Kingston in very pleasant surroundings that make for an enjoyable afternoon tea with friends or family. There was an assortment of sandwiches and small desserts also fresh scones served with home made raspberry and strawberry jam and fresh cream. A good choice of different teas were on offer and as much as you could drink. The waiter service was good especially one in particular who had a very cheerful manner. All in all a very nice venue for afternoon tea especially when you have great friends to enjoy it with.

Lovely hotel with comfortable rooms. Attentive staff and good service. Two points. We booked a twin room and were given a double. Breakfast was disappointing. Cold plates, nearly cold food which had been sitting in the heated containers for hours. Staff didn't notice that eggs were running out so a wait for fresh ones.

Just had lovely weekend at Warren house..lovely building and beautiful grounds..breakfast was lovely the staff were efficient but they looked slightly terrified ..smiling and friendly needs to be added to their training..the bedroom was small but very nice..lovely view over the garden..

Had a lovely stay last night following a win at a PA conference. Was lucky to be upgraded to Feature Room 5 which was very grand. Very comfortable bed, nice toiletries however rom was chilly as heating was hidden behind large curtains and also a leak on the bathroom floor wasn't what we expected. Grounds were lovely and our stay was enjoyed.

Breakfast was nice this morning and staff always friendly. Thank you Warren house. X

User

Beautiful hotel in lovely surroundings. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food is of a good standard. The only reason I didn’t rate as 5 was because my curtains didn’t close completely and my room was quite cold as the heat from the heater went straight out of the old windows
