How I miss opening the door on this place, with the scent of its wooden goodness greeting me.
Followed by a note of love and what needs doing from one of the girls. I’d like to say I miss Team Bug, but we speak pretty much daily.
The delivery men, and the banter. Customers and the hilarious chats, hugs, cake, watching all your littles grow up, bumps into babies. There have been tears of happiness and sadness in this place (from us all).

At Bug HQ , we’re not just making this post for our own benefit - we are writing this on behalf of every single business in the United Kingdom that requires people to visit them.
There are many businesses in our unique position. YES - we are insured. We are covered from the very moment that government orders businesses to close.
However, we are not insured against things going a bit quiet, and the government’s latest position is basically going to make things go VERY, VERY q...uiet.
By telling people not to visit businesses like ours, without ordering us to close completely, we are all being left in a precarious position. Actually, let’s not mince our words now … this is going to finish businesses all over the United Kingdom.
Please stop telling businesses to close for the safety of the general public, because in many cases if we close the shutters once, WE CLOSE THEM FOR GOOD!
So, just to make things perfectly clear, if we decide to close down completely, we’re pretty much finished because of our level of insurance cover, and to be honest we have a pretty comprehensive package! However, if we decide to stay open even though our trade is going to diminish to practically nothing, we’re pretty much finished because of a lack of income. When we say ‘we,’ we mean a lot of businesses.
This isn’t a ‘pity post,’ this is a myth-busting extravaganza for everyone who is screaming at their local businesses to close for the good of the public!
Anyway, at Weasel and the Bug we will continue to spend our days wiping, disinfecting, scrubbing, mopping, all the toys that children play with will be removed until further notice.
All we can do is make it as clean as possible and safe as possible until we are told to close our doors, which seems to be happening all over the world already for some reason, but that’s none of our business!
We don’t blame you if you want to stay away, because at the end of the day the health of our staff, our customers and their loved ones is the most important thing in the world. We just want you all to know the score, and when this all finally blows over, please don’t be too upset if many of your favourite hangout spots are gone for good. Just try and remember why.
