Westlondon Islamiccentre Description
The West London Islamic Centre & Jamia Masjid (WLIC) is a regional branch of the UK Islamic Mission, one of the UK’s largest Muslim organisations that has been serving the Muslim and wider community since 1962.
The history of the West London Islamic Centre dates back to the early 1980’s, when local Muslim families would gather in their homes for children’s Islamic classes, to hold meetings and for congregational prayer. The then fledgling Muslim community of Ealing and Hanwell helped purchase the first Masjid in the locality in 1986. Based at 119 & 121 Oaklands Road this facility comprised of two shops that had been converted to accommodate both brothers and sisters.
The congregation very quickly out grew the premises at Oaklands Road and in 1996 by the grace and assistance of Allah (swt), an opportunity arose to purchase a large delivery warehouse in West Ealing.
With a number of bids made for the well situated site in the centre of West Ealing's shopping district, the Masjid offer was accepted and the current UKIM West London Islamic Centre & Jamia Masjid was established.
