Westminster Business School - University Of Westminster

About Westminster Business School - University Of Westminster

Westminster Business School is one of London’s leading centres for business education.

Westminster Business School - University Of Westminster Description

Westminster Business School has a long history of providing business education for undergraduates and management education for practitioners and professionals. Our vision is to be London’s leading professionally-focused and research-informed business school.

The School was founded in 1997, but our origins go back even further to the 1970s. Westminster Business School is now embarking on an exciting new phase of development. In 2009 we combined with the former Harrow Business School and now provide higher education for 4, 000 students, a quarter of whom are studying for postgraduate degrees. We draw a sizeable proportion of our students from overseas, while at the same time focusing upon providing business and management education for UK students entering the business professions and also for those returning to undertake postgraduate study to further their careers.

We hold a number of international and professional accreditations from bodies such as the Association of MBAs, Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (we are one of their 11 national Centres of Excellence), ACCA and the Chartered Institute of Marketing. In line with our vision we are engaged in applied research that is internationally recognised and was awarded a 2* classification in the 2008 UK Research Assessment Exercise. We also have three flagship research centres and a strong group of PhD students. Our work in business development and knowledge transfer is also growing, and we have built up a strong reputation for providing corporate education and consultancy to the public sector. Overall our turnover is now in excess of £30 million, and we have nearly 200 full time staff and 150 visiting lecturers, putting us among the largest UK University business schools.

I have never believed that I would ever achieve a masters degree. I have always had a poor educational history as I have dyspraxia, thereby, had doubts doing the masters course. Westminster university had never allowed me to feel so low about myself; they have excellent structure, unique teachers, and very smart intelligence students who always inspire u to work hard.

At the beginning I was thinking small and was happy to be doing anything after my undergraduate degree. Now with my postgraduate degree, from Westminster, I feel really confident in myself and want to be dreaming big and succeeding in life. Going to Westminster University has truly been the best decision I have ever made and I hope they always do well in providing education.

User

I had a great time at the university and I encourage every one of you to apply and persuade your academic ambitions. There are just so many opportunities available - Talent Bank and Career Development Centre can help you find a part-time job during your studies; the societies and the SU are extremely helpful and friendly and they organise a lot of inspirational talks throughout the year; you can join the Learning Futures, a University scheme to influence changes on campus or undertake Polylang classes and study a semester abroad - the University of Westminster has a lot of partner institutions all across the globe. If you really want to do something, you just need to shout and you’ll have the chance. As with every other university, nothing can be perfect, there is always room for improvement. Become a student representative and speak to the module leaders to drive change. They will listen to your feedback :-)

Hi guys, if like me, you love Business and lets be honest, who doesn’t? Then you’ll love ‘Not Just Rob Gotobed But Also Tony Knight’ at The Leicester Square Theatre, London on May 23rd 2015 - it’s a GREAT Comedy!

“From the moment you enter the theatre you are taken on a comedic journey of absurdity. So sit back, relax and I will guarantee that not only will you laugh out loud, you will fall off your chair laughing out loud … Yes, the humor of Monty Python is alive and well in the form of Rob Gotobed & Tony Knight” F. Kathleen Foley, The Los Angeles Times.

Quickly change your mind. You will hardly work with groups of people that barely speak English, to come out with grades that won't even reach the 60. Teachers will have the cheek to tell you that 60 is a good grade.

Library are always full, silent rooms are everything but silent, and it is a real miracle when you find where to sit.

Classes have a poor content, mostly filled with theories and absolutely not practice.

Last but not least: good luck to find a teacher that actually cares about your academical success!

Classic situation at Westminster: i had a group-work with students that 1) barely spoke English 2) didn't contribute at all to the work 3) didn't even attend our meetings.

I told the teacher about it, several times, but nothing was done and he attributed all of us the exact same grade, just making me feel miserable.

Do not even bother with WBS, you'll feel horrifically degraded all along your cursus.

If you are a hard working person who cares about professionalism and equality do not waste your time here.
