Team Columbia-High road TT bike. I had this stunning bike in last week for a service. The rear brake and Di2 cable are routed through the fork steerer so the bike had to be stripped down to replace the headset bearings. This bike was ridden by Maxime Monfort when he won the Belgium national time trial championship and also in the Tour De France.

A long time ago a good friend of mine, Augstus Farmer, came and wrote a piece on Middleburn who I worked for. I enjoyed reading it and thought I would share it:
In my ongoing mission to rebuild my website, i've added the story i wrote on the teeth and sprockets of Middleburn in southern England almost a decade ago. There's a link below if you fancy a read. Thanks for looking.

Special custom build This is a special build for a octogenarian who has one arm; the right arm was amputated as a result of a mining accident in the early sixties, and he has limited movement in his left shoulder. He wanted a road bike with a flat bar that could go anywhere. I used a Tifosi carbon road frame and Fulcrum wheels. To get the range of gears with one shifter I built the bike with Shimano XT Di2 with an 11/46 cassette. As he only has his left arm I reprogrammed a left shifter to operate the rear mech. I fitted an Ultegra left brake lever and a Problem Solver to split the brake cables allowing the lever to operate both Ultegra brakes. This was a really satisfying project to do and the end result is stunning.

London to Brighton cycle ride. Today I was stationed at Ardingley providing technical support for the British Heart Foundation ride. The weather was awful with heavy rain and strong winds most of the day. We were kept busy all day and helped lots of riders on their way to Brighton.

London Revolution We woke up on the Saturday morning at Lea Valley Sports Centre to a grey morning and not a good weather forecast. The riders had a few light showers early on but then the day cleared and the sun came out. We had a steady flow of mechanical repairs to do and managed to get all the riders back on their bikes. The riders had good conditions on their way through the Surrey lanes and ended up at Windsor Racecourse for the night. On Sunday morning the riders woke up to ice on their tents and a stunning sunrise. The air was chilly as they started, the skies were clear, the sun was out and it was a glorious day to ride a bike. The riders rode out into the Chiltern Hills and then dropped back into London to finish at the Lea Valley Sports Centre.
