A great photo of our Exmoor ponies on the cliffs, thanks to Paul Harris for this lovely picture.

User

Why not make the most of some summer sunshine this week and come for a walk along the cliffs?

User

We visit this site quite a lot and have a nice tea and coffee in the cafe overlooking the port.

User

The National Trust has made the white cliffs an accessible and great place to visit. Car park is very reasonably priced. They have good facilities, cafeteria, gift shop and amenities. The views from the cliff tops are breath taking. I thoroughly recommend visiting the site.

User

Spectacular view and chilled environment away from the city.I was excited to be too near yet too far from France. The hike was wonderful and despite the wind and cold, the view ahead was motivation enough to continue going.

User

Really loved it made the effort to go all the way down to the beach to get 20 feet away to find the sign saying cliff fall no path! Could have put the sign at the top! Still every moment x

User

Lucky to live not far away so visit regularly especially in Summer. Walk for hours now Fan Bay Shelter is open as well. All good. Downside the people standing close to the cliff edge was worrying. The Trust volunteers were not impressed . You can often see Calais so clearly when weather permits

User

It was like visiting my past

User

It was an amazing place to see. We walked down the zig zag trail down the cliff face but were disappointed to discover at the last bit where you could get down on to a beach had collapsed. Still a memorable experience.

User

It was a place my husband wanted to visit on our trip to England. Although it was difficult to get there, with very narrow roads, it appeared that we had made wrong turns. After parking and we hiked for a few minutes, the beauty and the color of the cliffs and the ocean was revealed. It was worth it!

User

Good place to go walking especially as I’m currently training for a 26 mile charity walk,Cafe and shop isn’t bad either

Awesome place and view!!!

User

Amazing views. Places to seat along the way along cliff walk. Choice of paths for the less able. 50 minutes walk to light house along cliff path with up and down hilly bits. Top path "safer for little children, unfortunately you do miss the continues stunning view you get in the cliff path but you can't have everything" it's about 30 minutes walk and straight path but no seats until nearly the end when walking from light house back. Clean toilets. Love the picnic tables in every car park level. Amazing views from the toptear of car park. Tasty home made sandwich and cakes at the light house cafe. I will visit soon this amazing place again. Truly recommend.

User

Amazing and beautiful place!... Totally enjoyed the views from every angle... Nice place to have a spot of food..

User

Absolutely loved it . Apart from you were very close to the cliff edge . Some sort of fencing should be put around it for safety of children

User

Absolute stunning place... helped with the weather but this was wonderful. Views out to see blue on blue where ever I looked only broken by the passing ferries... Good paths for all to use.. and your able to go off route as there a numerous paths made by visitors... Stopped at South Foreland Lighthouse for a brew... Then walked back... 50 min walk each way..... Dare you do it....

User

A favourite walk of mine regularly done and tea at Mrs Knotts tea room at Southforeland light house. Great walk at anytime but if the suns out the cliffs get so white and the views towards France are to die for. The colours of the water towards the cliffs where the chalk washes away turn the sea a beautiful milky blue. Great day out and an easy route following the prepared paths or do like I do and follow the path toward the cliff edge but do be careful of getting to near.

User

We had a nice brisk walk along the White Cliffs early morning had intended to have a coffee and pastry at the cafe after our walk but they didn't open until 10 and we were short on time to get to the ferry across. Beautiful views and lovely hike.

User

The white cliff wall offers a stunning view from our air bnb back porch, the train route and landscape was equally beautiful. U gortu.ately we could not explore all that Dover has to offer as out time was extremely limited and was focus primarily on connecting with a long lost relative. We did get the opportunity to enjoy a delicious Turknish meal and view the festive street parade.

User

Nice walk. Best not to do the the walk at mid day when its hot. Light House cafe about 50 minutes walk, can get a bit crowded the staff are great work very hard

User

Loved it, only thing is, would liked to have seen more of the cliffs from the walk itself. Would have liked to have done the crossing but we didn't have time. Also was a hazey day and could not see France
