The station is on the Tattenham Corner line 23 km south of London Charing Cross. The station and all trains serving it are operated by Southern, and it is in Travelcard Zone 6. There is a single island platform, reached from a footbridge, and the ticket office, located on the island platform, is manned - from Spring 2010 - whenever trains run. Early in 2009, there was an attempted robbery of railway money, targeting railway staff, early in the morning. There is no PERTIS self-service 'Permit to Travel' ticket machine at this location.
