Woodys is a brilliant place the food is always exceptional ..... however service was not great, we totally appreciate it was a particularly busy Saturday night and young staff need to be trained up - we will visit again and continue to recommend because we have had such a great time previously...... the food is always fantastic xx

Woodys has the best Garlic bread ever. The rest of the food we've eaten in the 2 times we have eaten there is equally as good. I am a meat eater but I had no problem not wanting to order any meat, not that you'd get any anyway.

One downside is parking. It's all permit holders only apart for a few areas on Imperial Way with no double yellow lines. A friend introduced us to Woodys and my wife and I live in Slough. Just a 35min drive which is well worth it.

Such a lovely restaurant. Although i live in Hitchin, it's definitely worth travelling to. Had a fabulous lunch here today. Had the homemade sweet potato and coconut soup followed by a gorgeous Aubergine, chick pea and spinach curry with a glass of

Loved the food and the location is beautiful!

Being vegan myself and my partner decided to try this cafe out as there aren't many places we can eat out. When we got there we realised most things on the menu had some kind of diary however, the staff are willing to adapt meals where they can. So we had a pizza without cheese (lovely) and I even had my first latte since becoming vegan (something I have missed a lot!) would definitely return :)

User

It is lovely there and the food is really good. You can also have a good chat with friends. A very sociable place.

User

I regularly eat here around 1-2 times per week as I live close by. Absolutely love the food here, it's really good value for money as you're getting good quality ingredients and good portion sizes. Staff are always friendly and food is always very quick which is great!

User

I can't rate this highly enough! Such a wonderful atmosphere and amazing, fresh and beautifully presented food. It is a joy to go to Woodys; the staff are all wonderfully knowledgeable about the menu and the service is fantastic. Thank you for many wonderful meals with friends!

User

I am not vegetarian but went here midweek with a friend who is vegetarian. As a non vegetarian diner, I had a lovely aubergine curry with the best raita I've ever tasted.

waitress was very friendly, nice background music and lovely casual atmosphere.

portion size was spot on, not too huge.

Crepe desert was lovely, big enough for 2 to share. Red wine was also rather nice!

Menu isn't huge, but I prefer to have a smaller but good selection of homemade core value food than a large selection of frozen, heat and serve whatever food.

Would definitely recommend.

Great place. Tasty food, clean, friendly and relaxed. My son is vegan and was so pleased to finally have a decent and imaginative choice of dishes! Lovely cakes too.

User

User

Fantastic food, lovely setting and ambience

User

Excellent menu choice of veggie/vegan foods. Imaginative and well presented. Friendly, helpful staff and service very good too. Good for couples/families. It's in a nice position beside the canal. We've eaten at Woody's several times over the past few years and would go again any time. Definitely recommend.

User

Amazing food, all home cooked, delicious, organic yumminess! This place is good for the soul

Cakes are to die for, pizzas the best in the town, currys and soups, fresh bread.....I could go on!

User

I really love the food here and I am not even a vegetarian! Very tasty and fresh. The only thing stopping me giving this restaurant 5* is because of the price to plate size ratio of the salad we were served today. £5.80 for poxy two spoonfulls each of beans, coleslaw etc. They plate used to be a decent size. Waitress mentioned that we were not the only people to complain about this...The new plate size should be reassessed by the management as it is currently extortion!

User

Excellent to make a change even if you aren't Vegetarian. Id recommend the Pancakes but I'm a little disappointed given they are catering for the alternative diets that they don't cater for Gluten & Dairy Intolerant people.. if you are one or the other there is a little more choice but not both! This is not an issue when out when you can order Meat & Salad but very limiting when you can't eat pulses either. Ill still go again but only a couple of times a year given the restricted menu.

User

We have wanted to visit for ages after reading good reviews. Unfortunately, we came away wondering what all the fuss is about! It is a lovely location, the food is good but expensive and the service was nothing special.

We ordered 2 sides of homemade baked beans, only to be told a while after, that they had none. We were offered tinned beans instead, which arrived half way through eating our breakfast. And we were charged £6 for them!!! We won't be back

User

I have been to Woody's a few times now but sadly I won't be going anymore.

There is no complaint about the food but I find it well overpriced & the service yesterday was appalling! I had to keep going up to the till & re-asking for things that I had ordered.

It is a shame because it is in a nice location but I'm not prepared to spend over £20 on a salad & a small glass of wine.

User

Having been once before, I recommended we visit with friends yesterday. Good atmosphere on arrival and given menus but after 45 mins, we approached the counter to ask if we order there as nobody had been to take an order for drinks let alone food. Young chap cake over quickly and took our order. Drinks came over after another fairly long wait and food came out but mains came out and we'd ordered starters. Turns out they 'must have got it wrong in the kitchen' and everything was delivered at once so we have 4 starters and 4 mains all at once. Food was delicious and hot but service was appalling and for that reason, we won't visit again. Disappointing.

My Boyfriend booked this restaurant as i am a vegetarian for my anniversary on Saturday, the venue is amazing and the staff are lovely. the only issue i had was that they had no Pasta Dishes or Burgers, when asked they advised because the Christmas menu was coming in so they didn't want to waste food, which i totally understand, however when i asked if the cheese used was vegetarian they replied no it wasn't. this put me off my food as, if a restaurant is advertised vegetarian and vegan everything should be vegetarian. Rennet in cheese is made out of stomachs of ruminant mammals this i certainly do not call vegetarian. they should specify this on the menu
