Went in for a meal with 2 people who are both in their 80’s. It was spotlessly clean, easy menu, helpful and friendly staff. Food was fantastic. Highly recommend �

We have always gone to Yates! But I have to say how much the food has improved since the refurbishment! Amazing steak meals and mixed grills! Oh and not forgetting amstel! Which was spot on! We love the amstel, as it's awesome lager! Which a few pubs have stopped doing and lost our custom! Good old Yates! Keep up these awesome standards! Lol xx

Had my sisters hen party here on Friday night ... private area fenced off for us and complimentary champagne set out on tables with glasses,party poppers, glow sticks and tins of sweets ! Staff were lovely and kept checking on us ! Had some sharing platters between us all which were really nice too ... we all had a fantastic night and can't thank the staff enough for all they did ! Thank you xxxx

Great place, staff very accommodating to a big group coming in 20 minutes before 9 for food!! Great vibe, it was a shame we had to get an early night. Thank you from all at North Devon Roller Derby!!

Get place for a birthday party and the master cocktail class was brilliant never had so much fun at this party, the buffet was good as well definitely recommend this place.

Anthony & co hosted a cocktail masterclass for a small hen do, we had such a great night so professionally , friendly , fun & good value for money , we all loved it! Thanks for having us & making it a night to remember 👌🏻🍹

We stopped here for lunch yesterday, the food was very reasonably priced and the drinks were cheap too. We had the fish and chips and it was pretty good, especially for £6. Good for a quick lunch while you are shopping, it was clean and comfy so we were happy with it, kept us out of the rain for an hour anyway!

We had a meal on friday afternoon i had the steak n cheese ciabatta and my friend had fish n chips both meals were lovely tasted good and well presented and the pub itself has been done up lovely and the toilets are a massive improvement i will recommend to friends & family .

There in day lovely staff nice atmosphere food served quickly an piping hot. Returned for evening again great staff great offers an door staff great to music was on fire. Only bad point toilets nightmare obviously some people have no respect for property.

The bar itself was really good but the staff member that served us was so miserable and kept us waiting a long time only to be served a sex on the beach cocktail that looked like dishwater and the prices of cocktails are absolutely shocking

Went for dinner yesterday was a tasteless meal and burger had some Kindi of sauce on it they mixed the order up and had to come to us and ask what we had ordered after a 20 minute wait disgusting

We have come here for drinks and it is what it is, we decided to try the Mexican sharer which we can honestly say was horrible. The chips where cold and everything else tasted of nothing. I know Yates is a big chain and therefore food is not high on there list or staff training as turnover is high, all in all won't be eating there again.

Took over 20mins to get the first drink and longer still to get the next. We left as fed up of waiting. Staff didn't serve in order of people who'd waited the longest.

I’m 19years old, been in there a lot of times and tonight I got REFUSED. The bouncer who was on was fucking vile towards me. Only because on my ID I am blonde � well I have 3 types of ID now and you have lost a bunch of customers. Well fucking done Yates. Happy new year

I went into Yates' with 5 friends from work (three female, two male) in a near completely sober state. After 2 drinks and a mere 30 minutes, I was approached by a bouncer who told me I needed to leave. I politely asked why, and he stated that I had been 'bumping into people'. I agreed to leave as I am not prone to confrontation or argument, but I assured them they had the wrong person as I was sober and had never bumped into anyone. I was split from my friends and taken out of the back with the gate locked behind me.



No apology, no offer of reimbursement for half the drink I had left. My friends joined me shortly after (thankfully), each more surprised that I had been kicked out for absolutely no reason. Yates' lost 5 customers that night and if someone truly was 'bumping into people' in the bar then they were still in there causing trouble.



I will NEVER go in again due to the embarrassment and lack of clarification. I strongly recommend nobody else waste their money in here.



Also, at the time I was kicked out I was near one of my female friends who had entered the bar with our group. Their willingness to kick me out without checking that she was safe and had other contacts in the club was dangerous and sickening -- especially if someone had lied about me to split us up.



Avoid at all costs.

I called up a week before our work's do and spoke to a team leader. He wrote down in the diary 19 of us were coming for food at 7 and said he would arrange for the area to be set up. I asked if deposits or pre orders were required and he said no. A week later we arrive and the staff have no idea of any of it. The toilets are disgusting as early as 6pm, clogged with paper and filthy. Glasses and empty plates are collected very slowly.

Horrible!! Food tasted bland and shit, even the pop didn't taste nice and the baby changing toilet/disabled toilet stunk of wee to the point that I felt sick

Came in here yesterday afternoon for a few drinks with a group of friends. I have MS snd struggle with stairs & standard toilet facilities so I asked a member of staff if I could use the disabled toilets. He asked numerous questions as to why I needed to use it, why I needed a friend in with me, what my condition is & to explain what I'm not capable of doing on my own in front of a bar full of people. After a couple of minutes of complete humiliation he eventually let us in. The toilet was also leaking and stunk horrendous with no toilet paper available which took another member of staff atleast 10 minutes to find. So unless your limbs are practically hanging off, you have a bladder of steal or if your completely wheelchair bound then I don't recommend this place at all. Apart from that we had a couple of lovely cocktails ��
