Where memorabilia magic sets the tone,

radio songs bring sadness on the wing;

The Abbey Steps Tea Room leaves my breaths alone.

With cosy seats and warmth till gasping’s done,

black cats and broomsticks can’t make all hearts sing,

where memorabilia magic sets the tone.

Yet tea and coffee’s comforting as home;

cakes don’t cost the earth: your children bring,

The Abbey Steps Tea Room leaves your breaths alone.

There’s lollipops and snacks, so climbers come,

those 199 steps hold much less sting,

where memorabilia magic sets the tone.

All tourists at the bottom – each a stone –

attempts this captured window-gazing’s spring.

The Abbey Steps Tea Room leaves their breaths alone.

Exhausted beneath St Mary’s, where you lie prone,

consider tea and cake (reign as a king,

where memorabilia magic sets the tone.

The Abbey Steps Tea Room leaves my breaths alone.

Stayed here for 2 nights May bank holiday. Room was spotless and view out to sea was amazing. Alice was the perfect host. Next trip to Whitby I know where we are staying (if she will have us again).

User

Quirky 'Goth' themed little cafe. Great variety of drinks and snacks. Good service. Will be going back.

I stayed in the guest house for 2 nights, and have to say, what a fantastic place. Perfect location for the centre of town, and not far to walk to get anywhere around Whitby. The owner is great and very easy to have good chin wag with. I will certainly stop here again on my next visit to Whitby.
