The Gateshead Angel of the North is Britain's largest sculpture, designed by Antony Gormley for Gateshead Council. It weighs 200 tons, is 20m high and has a 54m wing span. The rich red /brown colour comes from the weathering steel which can withstand winds of more than 100 miles per hour.

This year to celebrate the Angel of the North’s 20th birthday, this event is extra special with a Go North East bus on site with crafty activity for families & face painting, a pop up café run by The Nest with lush treats and a raffle!
Fun Run starts at 6pm (open to everyone) - £3 entry... Junior Race starts at 6.30pm - £3 entry Senior Race - starts at 7.15pm - £12 entry
