About Anglers Arms
Dating back to the 18th century, the original coaching inn once provided refreshment and a place to rest for coaches heading to and from Scotland.
Now we serve quality Fayre in original surrounding and in those winter months the log fire is a real treat.
Anglers Arms Description
Dating back to the 18th century, the original coaching inn once provided refreshment and a place to rest for coaches heading to and from Scotland. The Anglers Arms has been a welcome sight for travellers for almost 300 years!
Conveniently situated in the picturesque hamlet of Weldon Bridge which although only a convenient distance from the A697 road to Coldstream, is a world away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. The Anglers Arms is approximately 9 miles north of the bustling market town of Morpeth and 13 miles south of the historic town of Alnwick making it the ideal base from which to explore this wonderful county.
Nearby attractions include Brinkburn Priory, an English Heritage property dating back to the 12th century with its very own classical music festival.
The nearby village of Rothbury is well worth a visit, sometimes referred to as the "Gateway to the Cheviots", it also is the location of Cragside House and Gardens. Built in the 18th century by the great Tyneside industrialist, Lord Armstrong, the house and grounds are now owned by the National Trust. Interestingly, Lord Armstrong was also responsible for the restoration of the spectacular Bamburgh Castle on the coast.
Approximately 13 miles north is the historic town of Alnwick and home to Alnwick Castle and the magnificent Alnwick Garden.
The Angler's Arms is located on the paths of both St Oswald's Way and the Northumbrian Inn Way and is the ideal place to stop off and put your feet up. As the bar is dog friendly (before 6. 30pm please), there's no need to leave man's best friend at the door!
A trip to Northumberland isn't complete without visiting the spectacular north east coast. From rugged rocky coves and cliffs to mile upon mile of unspoilt beaches with golden sands, it truly has something for everyone.
Real Place, Real Character
The owners of the Anglers Arms, John & Julie Young together with their dedicated team, have worked hard to create a special place that retains the very best of olde world charm and service combined with the very highest standards of service demanded by today's customers.
The decor of the pub reflects a bygone age, with an eclectic and diverse range of nick-nacks and curios from many ages. It is a place that has a real heart, a real character of a place with itβs own spirit.
Welcome to the Anglers Arms - Anything but average!

Visited the Anglers Arms for sunday lunch with a group of girls. The atmosphere was lovely the staff very friendly and helpfull. Our lunch was definitely 10 out of 10, we could not fault it! We dont come from the area but will be making a point of visiting again in the future and would highly recommend Anglers Arms.
The staff where very friendly and helpful , the location was excellent , really nice scenery , and the room was immaculate , overall a fantastic stay , I would highly recommend the Anglers Arms.
The food was great and being a fisherman all my life obviously found the place very interesting, a nice traditional countryside pub and my favourite type of place ever ! Iβll definitely be back soon π£πππΌ
Stopped off on way home after a recommendation and weren't disappointed. 5 beautiful meals and lovely staff. Nice atmosphere, it's a ten from

Stay at least a couple times a year, never disappoints lovely staff and fab food. Even better when we can take our two well behaved cockers. Thank you everyone at the Anglers. Happy Christmas π. Looking forward to staying again in New Year
Only stayed one night but couldn't fault anything at all, staff polite and friendly, food amazing, had a lovely break and will definitely return if only for a pint.
Lovely welcoming atmosphere with cheery and chatty staff and a traditional country pub decor with a roaring open fire. Their is a good and varied choice of meals and the standard is very good with the food being very tasty and to a high only downside is that the portions are a little large !!! We could not eat more than a main course or possibly a starter and pudding !
Lovely pub with extensive menu and drinks selection ..staff with personality and a warm welcome
Lovely food and staff very pleasant
Lovely food and staff
Great food and friendly staff, nothing a problem even got something made that was not on the menu.
Best mixed grill I've ever had. Our meals were delicious, very filling, good sized portions but most importantly all of it was perfect. Really nice meal out.
Anglers Arms was fantastic. The staff were so friendly and helpful.
So warm welcoming and cosy.
The food was PLENTIFL and delicious. Cant wait to go back
An excellent find on Groupon! Lovely accommodation, superb food, friendly welcoming staff and an ideal location for exploring the area. Would definitely stay here again!
A great venue, full of atmosphere and interest. The food is delicious, well cooked and beautifully presented. We enjoy eating there a lot!
A delicious meal in comfortable surroundings. So much food I had to bring home a doggy bag as it was too tasty to waste. Highly recommend this place.
The ambience is wonderful. I was there last night with my wife and we had superb meals and friendly service. Iβve been there often and I intend to return soon.
As part of walking holiday. Stayed B & B. Clean rooms. Luggage put in room for us. 3 good Cask Ales. Good Breakfast. Had evening meal. Excellent Choice and very good food. Enjoyed my stay.
Went for breakfast. Service was very good, but to charge nearly four quid for three slices of toast? Ehmm...???? the Scrambled eggs were dry and rubbery, maybe too long in the microwave instead of a pan. The breakfast pricey for what was offered. Will give them another chance though π
