Gah! The electricity is off in Whitby, Sleights, Robin Hoods Bay, Goathland, Eskdale and Scarborough. We're steampunking on Neil Power at Artemis and The Mermaid. 😜

Whoo hoo! Whitby Steampunk Weekend is here!!! Come and join in the fun. :-) This is Erin who came in with her sister to make necklaces yesterday. She really wasn't sure if she wanted to go steampunk or stay fairy. So she did both. And why not? Especially when dad is paying! <3

Soooo hot. Yesterday was a scorcher. Today's gonna be the same (if not hotter). Seems our feathered friends have heard just how "cool" the shop is (in both senses of the word of course!). Naughty Pidge is giving ASBO Seagull a run for his money. 😆

It's sooooooo bright and shiny in the sky! It's also bright and shiny in the shop PLUS it's cool. The concrete floor, and the fact the sun never reaches the back of the shop makes it a delightful place to be on roasting hot days like this! Come visit. 😎🌞😊

New signage for our neighbours - Mr Chip's Emporium - above Pandemonium on Golden Lion Bank. Artemis and The Mermaid needs "proper" signage... guess I'll have to get on with it now!!!

Two very different - but equally engaging - events to immerse yourselves in this weekend in Whitby. The Great Seaside Vintage Fair takes place at The Pavillion and The Tortuga Pirate Festival is... everywhere! Our little corner of Whitby - Artemis and The Mermaid, Pandemonium and Mr Chip's Emporium - has everything any self-respecting pirate, alternative, Steampunk, Goth or ne'er do well could possibly want. :-) Some items from our window shown in the photos.

Some beautiful and functional handmade pendulums for you today. Amethyst and lavender (glass and resin), aventurine and sage (glass and resin) plus a sparkly gold haematite (resin with much glitter). <3
