When Fleur was two years old doctors told her parents she might not be able to speak because of her autism – but now she's doing so well after getting a job at our Isle of Wight store that her old school invited her back to give a careers talk.
Fleur, who's 23, has worked at the store since it opened two years ago. She said: "I wanted to tell the pupils at the school that disability should be no barrier when it comes to getting a job. If I can do it so can they." Her mum Ria said: "In the past she struggled with interacting with people, but not now. Since working in Asda her confidence has really grown. When we are out and about she is always chatting to customers that she bumps into – it really is hard to believe. The whole family is just so proud of her." Read Fleur's story: http://bit.ly/2RrUGG4

More than 300 of our colleagues teamed up to tackle the Yorkshire Three Peaks – raising £40,000 for Tickled Pink.
Colleagues from Asda's head office in Leeds, George House in Lutterworth, stores and depots, as well as a number of our suppliers, all took part in the 24.5m challenge. The money they raised will go to Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Now. Read more and see photos: http://bit.ly/2RpOnTh

Our Lowestoft store’s handyman Jeff loves going out of his way to help everyone – and the store's community champion Bev says he does so much for her in and out of work he's like a father to her.
Bev’s dad and stepfather both died when she was young and she says Jeff – a former semi-finalist on Britain's Got Talent – has been an amazing friend to her and role model for her two sons. She said: "Jeff's a brilliant father to his own children and grandchildren, so it's lovely that he has been a father figure to me too. I hadn't had a male role model since I was younger until the lovely Jeff came into my life when I joined the Asda Lowestoft. He has been a father figure to me and my whole family love him. My sons say he is the grandfather they never had." Read their story: http://bit.ly/2Rkkhki

We’ve teamed up with Love Island's Dr Alex to encourage more people to stay safe in the sun this summer.
Our research shows that 34% of Brits choose not to apply any sunscreen in a bid to tan quicker, and 22% would even go as far as apply cooking oils to help speed up a tan. But suncream is important to protect you from the sun's harmful ultraviolet rays and can help to prevent skin cancer. Our sun cream is 5* UVA protection rated, Skin Health Alliance approved and starts at £2.39 a bottle. We've also updated our clear spray Asda Protect bottles so they're now fully recyclable – find out more here: http://bit.ly/2N0yBQv

We’ve been crowned the lowest price UK supermarket for the 22nd year in a row at The Grocer’s annual awards ceremony. 🏆
Each week The Grocer magazine analyses the price of a basket made up of 33 everyday items and we've consistently come out cheapest. Over the year, we were on average £3.27 a week cheaper than our nearest rival – that’s a potential saving of £163.50 over the year. And congratulations to our Livingston store manager Steven Moyes who was named Store Manager of the Year. Judges said Steven has an “infectious energy”, shows “great leadership skills” and is a “true standard-setter” in his field.

Check out these stunning photos taken by Asda lorry driver Ian on his journeys delivering food to our stores across Northern Ireland.
Ian’s hobby as a keen photographer is a perfect match for a job that takes him through some of the most picturesque scenery in the world. Ian said he took this picture when he saw the sky “just explode with colour” while he was taking a rest break in a lay-by. His manager Stephen says everyone in the transport team at Larne love seeing his pictures. Stephen said lorry drivers like Ian were supermarkets’ unsung heroes. “Customers don’t often see our drivers as they come in and out through the back door, but they do such a great job, making sure the store and the customers get the goods they need on time.” Read more: http://bit.ly/2wKjQpG

Thank you to everyone who's picked up a green token at our Hartlepool Asda checkouts to vote for a good cause.
There's very little difference in the amount of tokens in each box for the 9th Hartlepool Scout Group, Seaton United Under 14s football team and Ward Jackson Primary School - but who will win?

Colleagues at our stores are getting behind England and Scotland ahead of their match in the Women’s World Cup this weekend.
Eight of the England squad play for Manchester City, whose ground is next to the Eastlands store. To show their support, colleagues made pizzas in the shape of the St George’s cross, as well as hanging up bunting and balloons. Ruth from the store said: "We just want to do our bit to celebrate and support our team in the World Cup." Michelle, manager of our Govan store, added: “There are blue and white balloons across the store and colleagues have been wearing Scotland flags. We are all doing our bit to support the team. We all hope they do well." Read more:http://bit.ly/2MAlULN

Katy and Jacqui from our Havant and Waterlooville stores have been helping to look after some of the veterans of D-Day as they return to Portsmouth to mark the 75th anniversary of the Normandy landings.
The community champions regularly volunteer with Project 71, a charity that supports local war veterans, and as part of this week's commemorations they escorted former US Army radio operator Greg Melikian and RAF gunner Ron Nolan to a special dinner at Southwick House, where B...ritish and American commanders planned D-Day in 1944. Tomorrow they’ll be helping veterans at a remembrance service at the D-Day Stone on Southsea Common. At the age of 20, Greg was chosen by General Eisenhower to transmit the message telling the allied forces the Germans had surrendered and the war was over. Katy said: “It was a real pinch yourself moment to find yourself with such incredible people who've given so much for us. Greg tapped out the morse code message on my arm as we were walking in and I got goosebumps as I thought, 'Wow – this is such a special moment!’” Read more: http://bit.ly/2MvRY3p
