It is with heavy heart to inform you that John Mowgli will be leaving Asiana as a full time member of staff.
He will still return on the weekends between his new adventure working for IMPACT foundation and Hope For Justice, whenever he can and is not in some far reach place saving lives.

What a fantastic night sitting and speaking to one of our first and oldest customers Bill (92)and Joyce (87)Huntley, having their diamond anniversary here, from if you remember Huntley’s fruit and veg.
Speaking about a place called the Biz Bar from the 1969’s where spaghetti Bolognese was 1 and 6pence (7.5p to you and me) was the first Italian food they had. Gossiping about the locals, the war and putting the world to right (of course)

Went for a works night not the first time we’ve used Asiana for such a large group of us (25 ). Staff were very accommodating as we had late additions to our table. Service was excellent very attentive and food was amazing.

Visited with my husband at 6pm on a friday evening before a visit to Sunderland Empire Theatre. We had the 3 course evening special. Food was amazing & the special menu very good value for money. Drinks a bit pricey but what you'd expect to pay in any restaurant. Staff were very friendly & helpful & service was quick but not rushed which was lovely. Lovely table with a view of the river. Was our first visit but will definitely be back & would highly recommend.

Visited with 2 friends for the Christmas early evening menu, 3 courses for £16 each. Food was absolutely delicious with a table overlooking the river. Service was brilliant from start to finish, especially John who was helpful and friendly. Visited this restaurant many times and never been disappointed. The brownie spring rolls with honeycomb ice cream were to die for.

Visited on Saturday night to celebrate a birthday, there were 8 of us all together. Food was amazing , and the staff were lovely throughout the whole night . Even laughing and joking with us all . It certainly made my partners Birthday a special night . 1st visit for most of the party although my youngest daughter and her boyfriend have been several times . Will certainly be visiting again excellent !

Visited on Saturday in a group of 9 girls. Everything was excellent, most of us had the Imperial Banquet and food was amazing. Well looked after by the staff who didn't hurry us out even though it was after midnight. Will certainly be going back soon.

On arrival, the staff were very efficient and had us sat down within a matter of a minute .. The staff were really friendly and pleasant... Food was absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection.. There's nothing to fault this venue , and would recommend anyone to try..

My first visit absolutely loved it staff were brilliant we got a real warm welcome....and the food was amazing ....x

Last visited here approx 3 years ago and because of such appalling service and the rudeness of the manager vowed never to return again. However decided to give the place another chance so went on Friday night and was absolutely delighted with food,service and our table overlooking the river. 100% improvement on our last visit and we'll be returning.

Had a great meal, and waiter was fantastic fun, and made a great night.

First time here and had a lovely meal. Excellent service from genuinely friendly and helpful staff. Very reasonably priced pan Asian food. Not likely to be in the area any time soon but recommend to anyone that is! Lovely river view too especially at sunset!

Excellent food had the imperial banquet, the duck pancakes were amazing and so much duck we ran out of pancakes but we were offered extra, service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble, will definitely be back !!!!

Dropped in without a reservation last night and managed to get a table near the window with great views across the river. The food lived up to my expectations....it was delicious and the service was amazing too. Definitely recommend the flambe king prawns. Thanks and will definitely call in again.

Booked a table for 18 people to celebrate a birthday. We pre-ordered which was so simple and they kept in touch with me via e-mail before the date.

John, our waiter was amazing, so attentive and friendly. Food was amazing, no complaints about any of the meals.

Visited on Friday evening for restaurant week. Food was nice but service was disgraceful. We arrived earlier than planned and the restaurant was fairly quiet. We were shown to our table right away and had menus given to us. Waiter then came ten minutes later to take food orders and we had to prompt for drinks. Starters arrived 10 mins after this before we had received these drinks.

We then waited over 30 mins for the main course with empty glasses (Drinks had been ordered) A waiter came over after around 25 mins to say our food was on its way and would be a little while longer. No offer to check where our drinks were which again took far to long �

Once we finished the main course we ordered a third round of drinks which turned up just after the desert was brought out and to our shock the bill was brought to the table too even though we had just started desert!

Throughout the full meal we felt as though we should not have been there. Staff were abrupt and uninterested with us having to constantly prompt or remind for drinks orders.
