We held our wedding reception and evening do here on Saturday 23rd June. We have zero complaints at all with the venue, staff or food. The staff ensured everything ran smoothly and efficiently. The food was lovely and everyone during the day commented on how nice it was. Thank you to Sharnie, Tyrone and the rest of staff that helped on Saturday. We had an amazing day! Would highly recommend. Mr and Mrs Brabbs.

The staff were all so lovely and welcoming, and offered the best service from the start to the very end for our Graduation Ball. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was wonderful. Overall a throughly enjoyable experience from start to finish! Thank you to Sharnie and all of the other lovely staff involved!

Thank you so much for making my sisters day amazing!! Ur staff were brilliant and we loved the personal touches from the boss!!! Anyone who is thinking to use as a wedding venue you will not be disappointed very impressed!

Really enjoyed my night! The place was beautiful, the staff were great, it's an amazing setting for a ball! Food was lovely as a person with intolerance to certain items they could not have been any better! Would definitely go back :)

Friday 7th April Victoria Tunnel 175th anniversary event. We approached Antony and his team last year as we wanted to recreate an evening that happened in the Chandelier Suite in 1842. They could not been more helpful and encouraging. We were able to choose a Victorian menu and staged a music hall show. The night was a great success and I cannot thank Antony and his team enough for their magnificent support. Everyone loved the show and thought the staff were wonderful. Pity I was performing as I missed a fabulous 3 course meal so everyone told me. Would highly recommend anyone staging their event at the Assembly rooms.

Fantastic Afternoon the staff were all fantastic and friendly thank you pensions for putting on a great meal and drinks

Exellent room to hire for functions , not too big but lovely atmosphere, management and staff very helpfull, and rooms is free which is an added advantage !!!

Another great night rasing money for CHUF. Management & staff couldn't have been better with their help & support, lovely venue.

Very beautiful place. The only downside is no air conditioning. The rooms couldn't get ventilated. Being so many people there it was suffocating. Esp in 28degree heat. Other then that it was lovely.

Great place to do a gig! The staff were cool, changing rooms very decent with plenty of space and the room was great for live horns and vocals. Beer was average though at the very best, though it was free for us tonight.

Didn't like the starter didn't have soup on menu, as I would of chosen soup, main meal was fine pudding was nice, coffee and sweet mince pie was nice, good magician, loved the balloons he made, canny disco, they weren't in a hurry to chase us out at closing time, would go back again

Christmas party night Sunday 10th December. Food great. Venue great. Staff great. Entertainment great. Only let down music wasn't the best ��� for a Christmas party hence the reason a lot of parties left real early.

Attended Xmas party night over the weekend. Lovely venue, enjoyed the balloon model guy and prosecco but meal poor as was the music. 2 Xmas songs in 2 hours. The meal...pate, only choice of starters and the mushroom one looked awful, and tasted of nothing, main was hot, and nice, but, not much of it. Only 4 sprouts, 4 roasties, and no carrots or parsnips, or bacon on the sausage. Pud of upside down cheesecake, a mess, and basically winter berries, with a dollop of cream or something similar, with crushed biscuit on top. Not a cheesecake. Coffee luke warm and poor quality bought in mince pie. Hats, crackers etc good. Just about worth £25, but, wont be back next Xmas😯

Was here last night for Xmas night out with colleagues...venue was lovely, toilets nice and clean, music was ok a little chezzy at times but the only let down was the meal. The starter was bland, the main meal was disappointing the brussel sprouts weren't even cooked and the cheesecake looked like porridge and was too sweet. The waitresses looked like they didn't even want to be there a smile would have been good it was Xmas. For the price really disappointing 😏

Food and service wasn't great. Room was mean to be private yet we had people from other parties walking through..

Attended a graduation ball there last night. Meal was ok although cheesecake was horrible. Staff serving were so rude. Plates were thrown onto the table and taken away when some guests hadn’t even finished. Girl at the bar was so miserable and looked bored. Would certainly not recommend this venue for the students next year.

They're happy to let people drink to excess at their bar in front of their staff but if you become worse for wear, even if it's in the privacy of a toilet cubicle not harming anyone, they will manhandle you off the premises and dump you outside. This happened to a work colleague I was supervising till her husband collected her, and I have never seen such dreadful, uncaring behaviour from security staff. The person it happened to shouldn't have been in such a state but the management shouldn't send a security team to "get her off the premises", they need take a little responsibility for their patrons

Booked Christmas dinner for three adults and a baby was told baby was free .Gave menu choices and said whatever you do for baby as I wasn't given a child option to arrive Christmas Day served starters and baby was given nothing main course swiftly followed and guess what nothing for baby so I pulled staff member to one side and was given plate of veg no meat desert followed and guess what none for baby so I shared mine .But what I hate most is the snotty response from Sophie who firstly apologises then tells me I didn't put an order in without even bothering to ask if I did after several emails back and fourth her attitude just got more cocky instead of taking full responsibility and just saying sorry end of as it was a Christmas Day lunch which we all looked forward too just seemed to try and proportion some of the blame on what we should have done . Sophie needs some serious training on handling customer complaints I've had much better treatment in Mac Donald's which is probably where I'll book dinner next year .
