We Are Where We Are artist Daniel Fogarty’s work encompasses many practices including sculpture, jewellery and print. Fogarty is primarily concerned with ideas of the vernacular and contemporary folk practices and its messy translation into international culture. Fogarty rethinks popular forms of expression such as brooches and cards into trajectories full of complications and ricocheted styles.

We Are Where We Are artist Matthew Crawley worked together with Leeds City Council Department of Highways to organise the excavation of a small lump of spilled tarmac from a pedestrian island in the Sheepscar area of the City of Leeds. This lump of tarmac, now referred to as 'Isle' became familiar to the artist over a period of almost a decade as he repeated his daily cycle journey to and from work.

User

We Are Where We Are artist Nina Chua (b. 1980, Manchester) is interested in surface as a visual and visceral experience. Through repetition and accumulation, surfaces are built up which foreground line, colour, and support. Nothing is concealed; the process is essentially laid bare. The work is an exercise in limitation and the economy of means, which is used to maximal effect.

We Are Where We Are artist Lindsey Bull's work Wish you were here refers to a recent residency undertaken in Florida and the personal sense and remembering of place. Bull wanted the shadowed figure to be grounded in the landscape while, at the same time, almost reminiscent of a cardboard cut-out in front of an idealised backdrop.
