We caught up with Seb Fontaine ahead of his gig Upstairs at Barca on Saturday 28th July, here's what he had to say......
So Seb, how's your summer shaping up?
"Amazing, I've already done 6 festivals and have another 5 or 6 to look forward to. Gigs have been brilliant as well - must be the weather ­¤śā"
... Where have you been playing recently?
"All over the shop..... Ibiza, London, Scotland, Ireland, Bali, Liverpool and finally I'm coming up to see you. We have been talking about this for ages so I really can't wait. Graeme Park was telling me how good it was when I saw him last week so really excited."
When was the last time you were in the North East?
"Digital..... late last year"
We're looking forward to welcoming you for your Tynemouth and Expo debut....what have you heard about us?
"Lots, all good haha. I'm seeing Jeremy Healy in Ibiza next week so he'll give me the lowdown too."
How often do you play at small intimate venues like Barca?
"I am really lucky in that I play as many big gigs as I do small gigs. There's something special about a small room packed with music lovers as opposed to a big club that may be full but not everyone is there for the music."
And we know you're a big football fan, what are your thoughts on the World Cup so far? And what's your prediction for the England vs Croatia game?
"England will beat Croatia, beyond that I am tempting fate to say what I think. What I will say is that this has been an incredible World Cup, maybe the best in years. What an atmosphere and so unpredictable!"

Stormin couple of weeks coming up Upstairs at Barca....­¤Æź­¤ÆźŌÜĮ’ĖÅ­¤Ä¦­¤Äż­¤öŖ­¤Æź­¤ Æź

Walked in here last night looking for somewhere different to eat in Tynemouth. Very impressed with the look of the place, the interesting artwork and furniture and was over the moon with the starter that we chose. The Mood board to share was fantastic and full of mouth watering flavours. For mains, I had the turkey seen as it's nearly Xmas and my wife opted for the lamb rump. Both plates went back to the kitchen almost wiped clean. Will definitely return here again.

This was the first time Tina and me have visited the restaurant here... Must admit, very pleased with the place.... Staff very friendly... Food exceptional....nice beer...and not a bad price.

Highley recommend coming here..

My daughter & her friend celebrated their joint 18th at Barca last night & it was just the perfect venue. Marty went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed beforehand & on the night :)

The bar staff were fantastic & even the doorman was very patient with us while we got ourselves sorted etc the end of the night.

Everyone had a great night & I'd

highly recommend it for anyone looking for party/wedding venue.

I was here with two lovely ladies, we hadn't seen each other in ages so had lots to talk about. We had a lovely meal & spent ages talking between courses & drinks the staff were brilliant & not once did we feel rushed or that we out stayed our welcome great place xx

Barca was the perfect venue for our party with live band and catering. Would definitely recommend the upstairs venue for anyone looking to hold a similar function. Freindly and helpful guys made the organisation a dream.

Ate here for the first time last night, loved it. Amazing food, great beer, gorgeous decor and fabulous staff. Can't wait to go again

Another amazing meal, with exceptional staff and service, unable to find any fault or negatives with this hidden little gem! My favourite restaurant in tynemouth by far, thank you again

Absolutely loved it! Popped in for Sunday lunch last week. Food was great, staff were welcoming and friendly. This has to be some of the coolest decor I've seen in a restaurant ever! Will be back for tapas and some fancy gin.

A toothless wonder served me a delightful pint of some unknown lager from the world outside the enclosed village of tynemouth. He promised to show me the world and he delivered on this by putting me on a magical taste sensation of different spirits, cocktails and delightful ales. I didnt catch his name, but I was told by a fellow drinker that his hipster name was Big G Money. Which my humble opinion fitted right in with his hipster image and was like one of the eye porn artists inage from the wall.

Brilliant place some great quirky Art Work there the lass"s were great crack it was a better visit with my pal the Master Brewer Martin Hammill

We were there yesterday for Sunday lunch. After being asked how long it would take to eat lunch we decided to head somewhere else but were brought back by another member of staff who said the person we had spoken to was confused, and there was a table for two after all. However, for the entire time we were there, there were several empty tables. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout, without being overly so.

We both had the beef lunch which sadly was quite ordinary, I had expected something more either in flavour or quantity for the price. However, the cheesecake dessert was outstanding and extremely moreish.

Overall good, but there are better in the locality at around the same price range, and equal quality but cheaper establishments also.
