Has anyone lost a bracelet whilst staying in one of our self catering lodges? If you think it could be yours please get in touch and tell us which lodge you were staying in and a description of the bracelet. We really want to find the owner.

Words cannot describe how much I adored this place. I really needed a chilled out weekend and by god I got it. Everything was spectacular. So amazing in fact that we've already booked to go again and I'll be booking a further 3rd time to bring my daughter.

Fantastic !!!

User

We stayed in the silver lodge for 3 nights. The lodge was overlooking the pond. It was gorgeous, very clean, modern, lovely and warm. The tea, coffee, biscuits & milk pots was a lovely gesture. We took our 2 boys aged 6 & 4 they absolutely loved it and said they wanted to live there. We also took our dog as the site is dog friendly. We all enjoyed the farm animals and the table tennis:) Definitley recommend the site and would go back again. The boys kept asking to go back to the lodge on our days out they enjoyed it that much!! We had a games night thanks to the loan of board games and DVDs from reception.

User

We booked a last minute 2 night stay for this weekend with our 2 dogs in one of the self catered lodges. Such a lovely welcoming place, a great location to explore the area from and a nice peaceful spot to unwind on our private outside decking. This enclosed area meant we could relax knowing the dogs were safe to come and go from the lodge. Thank you for such warm hospitality, we will be back!

User

The only disappointment about our stay at Barker stakes is that it was so short. We had one night there whilst we visited the NYMR. The room we had I the farmhouse was stunning g, warm and comfortable on our arrival. We were also provided with a travel cot for our baby son. The grounds are so peaceful and the animals are clearly well looked after, put son saw his first horses, rabbits and alpaca's! The breakfast choice was good, and the quality was lovely. The only point I would suggest is an offering of fresh fruit.

The hosts were friendly and approachable, and we will definitely be retuning for a longer stay next year

User

The best you can get for a totally relaxing dog friendly place in the whole of the north of England. I give Barker Stakes farm ten out of ten . I recommend this to anyone even those without pets.

User

Stayed for 2 nights on way home from Primrose Valley. Hubby had arranged it along with Flamingo Land as a surprise for myself and 2 sons (5,7) the lodge was lovely, spotless and a great size. The play area was great with outdoor barn with pool tables/pingpong/giant connect 4 and more. Our boys loved the animals on site and being able to pet and feed them. They also loved the fact that they could go out by themselves due to closeness of lodges to the playpark, we borrowed a few dvds and board games as the boys thought it was fab that they had a dvd/TV in their room Hosts were lovely and very accommodating, the breakfast was probably the best I've ever had at any B&B ever. Would def return

User

Really lovely lodges in a peaceful picturesque setting, fantastic for dog owners and families with kids and very near to Pickering and plenty of nice restaurants pubs takeaways and attractions.

Our only thing we'd have liked would have been to be within walking distance of a pub but it really wasn't an issue (you could walk it but I'd say it would be a tidy 40 minute walk so didn't suit us with a toddler)

Kitchen facilities great with full size fridge freezer, microwave, sml dishwasher, oven and enough pots pans glasses etc

Lovely and clean

Lovely comfy beds and plenty of towels

Great shower

Lovely outside seating area with comfy deckchairs

Plenty of parking space

Would definitely recommend and stay again.

User

Lovely, peaceful place to stay. You can hear and see Flamingo Land from the farm. Excellent for all ages my teenage daughter and friend loved it and so did our German Shepherd, Dexter.

Farm is excellently situated for Dalby Forest. Girls went Go Ape. Pickering and steam trains on your door step. Clayton Bay was 30 min drive and is dog friendly in the summer.

We had booked the 3 bdr Lodge which over looked the play area and we could sit on our decking area and watch the animals. Loved our stay would not hesitate to recommend.

Thank you Steve.

User

Left here today after a wonderful weekend! Was a super last minute booking but Steve, the owner, was amazingly helpful and got us booked in on the same day. Our two lodges where beautiful, they where side by side, great for celebrating the two 30th birthday’s which we were away for. Considering the weather (-1 and 5 inches of snow!) both the lodges where super toastie and very comfortable (gold and silver lodges) for a party of 9 and 3 dogs. Little one has come away crying as she didn’t want to leave, and neither did we! We are already looking to book again for the summer. Amazing place! Loved it, thank you.

User

Just stayed here to go to flamingo land with our 5 year old. Stayed one night but was really lovely. Good accommodation, we were in b&b but still good to have kitchen facilities and opened into a nice courtyard and own seated area on the other side so was great and the lodges that were already booked up looked great.

Lovely play area and animals for kids, would definitely recommend, excellent breakfast.

User

It's just great Steve and Sara .offer a fantastic retreat in the country side close to Pickering nice and quiet and good food most of all .very good value for money

User

I stay in a lot of hotels & B&B’s with work and rarely leave reviews, but credit where credits due! I’ve been here for nearly 3wks now and absolutely loved it. Such a tranquil, beautiful setting and I’ve had the best undisturbed sleep (which is much needed after a long days graft), with the only sounds you hear being from the farm animals in the morning! Pickering is lovely and it’s also only a stones throw from the beautiful Yorkshire moors, Whitby, York etc. N.Yorks is such a nice neck of the woods! Also the hosts Steve and Sarah really couldn’t be nicer or more accommodating. The other 5 star reviews say it all, and I’m more than happy to add mine to the growing collection. Hopefully I’ll be back again one day!

User

I cannot reccommend this place enough to people! Booked in last minute last weekend and loved every second.. its a lovely hidden gem with wonderful hosts! I'll be back in april with my mother and probably back a few more times throughout the year ..its a perfect little hideaway from the rest of the world! See you again soon

User

I can happily recommend Barker Stakes Farm, so pleased we found it! I have stayed twice with my family; in a lodge during our 1st visit then in the loft on our 2nd. All accommodation is kept clean and Steve and Sarah are genuinely lovely people who will go over and above to ensure you have a lovely stay. The children enjoyed the play area and being able to see the animals on site and they loved choosing a DVD and board game each evening! The breakfasts are delicious and set you up for the day. The location is ideal for Flamingo Land and also central for day trips to Scarborough, Whitby and York. We will definitely be returning :-)

User

First time at the farm but wont be the last, set in fabulus grounds also in the middle of the country. Steve and Sara were fantastic hosts, nothing is too much for them. The breakfast are fantastic, I would rate it as 5 🌟

User

Fantastic weekend break staff were lovely couldn't do enough for you the breakfast was lovely. Anyone stopping at flamingo land this is perfect 10mins in the car. My kids loved the play area and the other outdoor games available. There is a wide choice of Dvds to borrow. We will defo book again next time we visit flamingo land.

User

Day two here and two more to go. Already wishing I was staying longer. Lodge is fantastic, surroundings are beautiful and the whole farm is immaculate. Massive ‘thank you’ to the owners for providing us with the perfect holiday base. Thoroughly recommend this place.

User

Can't pick a fault with it. Lovely place and very friendly staff. Clean and tidy with quietness to top it off.

User

Amazing setting and brilliant service. Plenty of room, pigmy goats, alpacas and ponies, just a truly brilliant place. I had a great stay and will come back again. Make sure you drive further than the sign you encounter on the road or you will go into the wrong place (which becomes evident immediately, but still, bothers the people in that property)
