Yesterday my husband sliced the top of his finger off chopping salad!

He was advised to go to the minor injuries clinic at Berwick by the GP receptionist.

We arrived there and registered, and within 20 minutes were called into a cubicle by a lovely nurse (I'm sorry that I don't remember her name). She examined his finger, and applied a dressing, and advised him to return on Sunday (in 2 days) to clean the wound and re dress it!!

We were there, treated, and back home in Wooler in just over an hour!!

A lovely clean quiet clinic, with extremely pleasant, friendly, efficient staff!!

Wonderful staff nurse Joanne supported and cared for both my dad and I on 10th January for 8 hours in Minor Injuries. Her compassion and understanding was amazing. We cannot thank you enough.

User

On Tuesday night I attended Berwick infirmary at about 10.30pm after having a tumble. it was busy on arrival so there was a bit of a wait however, Jane on reception,Celia and dawn (out of hours nurses)kept me in good spirits (thank you). I was seen by a lovely male nurse, sorry I swore at him due to the pain when he touched my toe( I did apologise) he said he had heard worse. I was strapped up and crutches given and asked to come back at 10am tomorrow.

Wednesday 10am staff aware I was coming in so dressing off straight to X-ray, diagnosed broken toe, moon boot and crutches all within 45 minutes, and informed that someone would ring me from cramlington tomorrow after reviewing my X-ray. Between 9 and 12

Thursday 11am call from cramlington yep it's broken choice of cramlington or Berwick for toes to be taped .so down to minor injuries at Berwick again they were aware I was coming so sorted within 30 minutes. Thank you so much Kirsten burn for all your help over the last couple of days your one in a million, all with the other staff that were on duty x

I know not many people want to find themselves having to go to hospital, but I am on holiday at Berwick, I had a badly swollen and painful ear after a piercing. The staff were great, the receptionist polite, the nurse Elaine who saw to me was lovely, and I was seen to and home within an hour. Lovely, friendly hospital.
