Fantastic news for the U13's and U18s Billingham Stars Ice Hockey teams!
U18's have won the Northern League for 2018 coming up from division 2 last season to then winning the Division League and also came runners up in the Nationals.
The U13s won the Northern league and went on to win the National League for U13's at Sheffield.
... As a club they have had 22 players taking part in the Northern Conference Tournament in Sheffield last weekend. These players went across the age groups from u11,u13,U15 and U17. The U17 Conference team (including 7 Billingham players) took the Conference title. For Ethan Hehir, Shaun Galloway and James Hellens this would be the last time that they would be able to take part after 8 years. The u15 conference team came second.
Also having players represent both England and Great Britain this year too.
Amazing achievements!

That’s a wrap! 100 laps of the rink completed for the RAF Baton Relay. It is now on its way down to RAF Leeming ❄️

Our 2 are learning to Skate on Saturday mornings. It is very well organised and the staff so far have been excellent. They have come on so much. Also a nice “warm” rink for the spectator unlike the shack up the road.

User

I haven't been to the forum for 28 years since I visited to play hockey. Came to watch the Stars and take my boy to his first hockey match. Rink looks great, facilities are superb, really friendly family atmosphere despite it being a local derby. Thanks to all, my lad is hooked, I will be back, might even have a skate ďż˝

Had a brilliant time for Mother’s Day yesterday with my mam and sister! Staff were really helpful and pleasant especially when enquiring about lessons. Wasn’t too expensive either especially as mams went free. Thanks for a great Mother’s Day

User

Loved taking my son who’s 3 year old ice skating the people at the shoe desk were lovely and we had a lot of fun however reception staff were completely useless so uninformative also it says 3 and under are free on website yet they said they get charged it was a joke but we still had a lovely time the guy who was Santa was brilliant as well

User

I skate here regularly despite breaking my leg on the ice once! Everyone’s friendly and looks out for each other, the atmosphere is great.

If you’re going to go regularly invest in a pair of figure or hockey skates which aren’t expensive, as the hire ones aren’t fun. We usually skate for at least an hour and the hire skates will murder your feet in half that time if you’re lucky.

Get a saver card too, works out a lot cheaper.

Went to watch peacock lake started off great but started to drag 2 and half hrs b4 an interval got bit boring to honest some parts were good but i thought it lacked organisation tapshoes and tutus were great contempery dancers were good and proffesional skaters and folklore. But the many sitting on the edge of the mat spoilt in and so did the indian girl she danced far too much that aided to the dragged on bit she was a good dancer but too many sorry but didnt think it was worth it we actually left with quite alot of people doing the same b4 the end and i must say it would have been nice for more pictures in the brochure

User

We went to see the panto aladdin on ice last night as got to say what a disappointment as we knew that it wasn't going to be a professional show but it was worser than we ever thought of as wouldn't recccomend it as rather go see the full professional pantomime anyday as wouldn't come back. :( what a waste of money as my son was bored that we left half way when the interval came on.

User

Went to watch my grandson play Ice Hockey for Billingham Stars U15s the lack of interest from staff at the rink is poor also facilities for people to get hot food and drink is again poor.

User

Nice arena, friendly staff, reasonably priced. So why 1*? Well, we went ice skating here 14th February and my mum had a nasty fall resulting in quite a serious surgery on her arm, it is uncertain whether she will regain full use of it. I filled out extensive accident forms and expected a follow up call/e-mail, I e-mailed 4 days ago and have still had nothing. We don’t expect a refund or anything like that, but a courtesy call to enquire about her wellbeing would be nice!

Disappointed. Probably won’t hurry back.
