Went last night , food lovely as always , staff very warm and friendly .

Went here for my friends birthday. I’m from East of Newcastle so have never been here before. Excellent choice of food and drinks, excellent service and very friendly. Would definitely go back and would recommend to others.

We went to Romano's for my Granddaughter's 21st Birthday. There were 12 of us and I have to say the service and friendlies of staff was excellent. The meal was superb and I think every plate was emptied. I had crab/prawn risotto and it was excellent. I have been here many times and every time it has been excellent. Looking forward to my next visit.

Visited Christmas Eve and our experience was as enjoyable as ever. Lovely food, attentive staff and cosy atmosphere. Best place to eat in the local area!

The best place in the north east to eat took my husband there yesterday for the first time and he can’t wait to go back. My secret guilty pleasure is a secret no more the asparagus and pea risotto is so light and ideal for a summer lunch. Thank you for such a pleasant and enjoyable time

Short of time today but my wife and I have just had super tasty lunch from the Small Plates Menu. As always very high quality food from our favourite local restaurant.

Service always 5* nothing is ever too much trouble. First class food and always a great atmosphere. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Food was gorgeous one very happy helpful waiter. One very unhelpful waitress asked her for another bottle of wine still waiting until we asked waiter who brought us one promptly. Asked her for bill she didn't bother with that either. Paid at the bar. Apart from that excellent.

Food was delicious and had so many options for food intolerances too (very impressed as I could eat without having to make special requests. Service excellent and such attention to detail. Would highly recommend and will be back!

First time trying here. Would highly recommend! There food and service was 10/10 ! We will certainly be returning �

Fantastic Restaurant! Came here for a family meal, travelled from Manchester. The waitress was fantastic really looked after my 5yr old boy who has a broken leg. The night was full of extra miles. Including taking my lad into the kitchen to make his own dessert. Being a pub/restaurant operator myself, this made his night. Also the birthday girl got a sparkler with her dessert even tho' we had only mentioned it and didn't expect it. Food was great to match the service, I can highly recommend this bistro - well done

Decided to call in for a cheeky lazy lunch on Easter Monday. Food was as usually delicious, service first class and staff pleasant, professional and informative in the three diffetent menus. Like the new light bites menu. However opted for a much needy soup of day.... cream of vegetable and one of my favourite pastas... linguine Vongole. Husband had trio of puddings and Daube of beef for mains. All clean plates.

Can not believe as a lover of cuisine that I’ve never eaten here before tonight! Food was beautiful!! Service unreal! And the waiter made me a special custom made spicy sauce I asked for on the side that was exquisite!! Will now be a frequent visitor of this place! Thank you for a great meal.

Been here lots of time and Thursday nite did not disappoint. We were at a private Birthday party. The food, service and attention to detail was fantastic. Thank you so much of a fab night.x

Been going to Romano's for a while now. I agree with other comments - as far as I am concerned certainly the best food in Sunderland. Staff are so friendly and it all helps the experience. Give it a try you won't regret it.

Very upmarket! Tiger prawns tasty but should have been labelled tiger cub prawns as they had not had time to grow �

Food was lovely but the staff need to work in delivering everyone's meal at the same time.

Waited nearly 1 hour just to get the starters. When they arrived the soup of the day was so hot it was impossible to eat. It was as if it was microwaved.
