Congratulations to Adam Rochester who's topped off a great season by establishing a new course record of gross 64 in yesterday's Saturday Stableford. This beat the previous record by 2 shots, earning him 44 points and making him our only scratch player. Well done Adam👏👏.

The Golf Club Committee has decided that the Club 'No Smoking' policy is to also include the use of electronic nicotine delivery systems - known as vaping or e-cigarettes. In order to protect and enhance indoor air quality and contribute to health and well-being of all employees and visitors, the clubhouse and outside seating area shall be entirely smoke and vape free. This policy is effective immediately. We thank you for your cooperation.

The Seniors enjoyed a 'grand day out' at Cleveland Golf Club on Thursday 23rd August organised by their Captain Roger James. The winner on the day was Steve Giles pictured here with his trophy (and a couple of photo bombers!!).

Great fun was had by all at the Club Day held on Saturday 25th August. Seventeen teams entered the 'Yellow Peril' competition in the morning, with the winners being Stephen Haymer, Dean Martin, Kevin Peacock and John Mackenzie. Geoff Peacock, Richard Todd, Paul Ellershaw, Darryl Cole were a close second.
Nearest the pins were won by Ladies: Sheila Davison, Men’s: Andrew Wilson.
After a tasty hot pork roll, the fun (and serious competition!) really began!! Target golf was w...on by Sheila Davison, Foot-golf by Adam Rochester, long putt challenge Mike Hall, and the hilarious (and very competitive) Speed golf by Adam Rochester, John Bradley, Andrew Gibson and Rebecca Gibson in a time of 30.13 seconds!
Thanks to all who took part and to Becca Gibson for arranging all the action.
As a bonus, nearly £500 was raised for the two Captains' charities : Prostate Cancer and Alzheimer's Society.

Great fun was had by all the ladies who attended the Murder Mystery Afternoon Tea, enjoying a delicious afternoon tea while trying to be super sleuths. There was a large degree of hilarity when two of our local 'boys in blue' came into the Club during the performance - they were nearly co-opted to solve the mystery! Thanks to Isabelle Mumford and company for entertaining us on a grey Monday afternoon😀👏!

Around 80 golfers played in our Charity Day yesterday (some of them in pretty heavy rain😟) all in a good cause. Generously sponsored by Evans Halshaw, the winners (pictured with CaptainJeff Banham) were Stephen Miller and Colin Collinson on 45 points, narrowly beating Chris and Phil Constable on countback. In third place were Vickie and Andrew Wilson on 44 points, also on countback. The real winners were our Captain’s charity Prostate Cancer UK and Lady Captain’s charity Alzheimer’s Society as around £2000 was raised on the day and before with a raffle, entry fees and silent auction. Thanks to everyone involved in organising the Day, especially Judi and Barry Summerson, and the catering and bar staff for dealing with a busy bar after the golf!

The course is looking good considering the bad weather we have had, glad to see the green staff have trimmed the the tree 🌲 line to the right of the 12th. You can tee off over the bunker tiger line now if you dare. Lots of new trees also been planted on the front 9 #golf

Excellent course, charming and friendly club house, helpful staff, good food.

User

Course was in beautiful condition. Staff we're as always friendly. Highly recommended

User

The one thing that lets the course down is the number of poor bunkers there are on the course!!! Shallow builders sand and gravel instead of proper bunker sand!!! This needs rectifying sooner rather than later as it lets the whole course down!!!!

User

I played yesterday afternoon course played well in my opinion the condition of the majority of bunkers are a big let down and some of the fairways are a bit too wide.
