Boilerhouse Jesmond Description
Boilerhouse was born from the creative vision of Kim Le-Neveu and Steve Jones, hairdressing heavyweights with over 30 years salon experience apiece. In their early careers both spent time with Vidal Sassoon, with Steve developing managerial experience at the South Molton Street branch and Kim teaching at the renowned Vidal Sassoon Academy.
The pair then spent 3 years touring the Far East, delivering training seminars on the latest hair techniques and styles. Before returning home the pair spent time in Australia, becoming involved in fashion and photography work for top magazines.
On returning home, Kim and Steve found themselves in great demand; the logical next step was to open their own premises. Boilerhouse opened its doors in Newcastle in 1985 and rapidly established a well-earned reputation as a leading salon in the region.
Boilerhouse has since gone from strength to strength, with Kim as the head stylist / trainer and Steve taking on the role of full-time salon manager. The salon has consistently proved to be a hit both with customers and within the fashion world. The team are regularly involved in fashion events, with Boilerhouse cuts and styles being published in most major national and international hair magazines.

As well as making people look fabulous on the daily we’re here to advise and do what’s right for your hair. Sometimes we have to tell people what they want is just not possible. We used Zarah to transform us into princesses for my son's wedding. Booking Zarah for the event was straightforward and on the day she arrived on time and worked seamlessy through the 4 of us and alongside Sarah (F.A.C.E.) Everyone was delighted with the polished results and our hair stayed immaculate for the whole day and evening. Would highly recommend Zarah. Thank you so much from all of us.
This is my Family hairdressers. I have been coming here ever since my first haircut. Myself, Mum and Grandma have always had Nina cut our hair and we can never fault her. Such a lovely woman and brilliant hairdresser! Gabi always sorts out my colour when I need it and gives great advice on what colours would best suit my skin tone. Always reccomend here to friends. Love the boilerhouse I wouldnt go anywhere else :)

OMG! what can I say? I went in feeling and looking like Susan Boyle and came out feeling like J Lo, simply amazing, Nina, Gabby and the young girl that rinsed me off and massaged my scalp, I can't thank you all enough, you've made Me feel very very happy! Excellent service, excellent staff in a beautifully decorated salon.
Natalie was great, even though when I went in my hair was a nightmare with different colour roots � in love with my new hair and will definitely be returning!

I’ve had both the beauty side and the hair side at boiler house now and both are excellent! I’m always nervous about getting my hair highlighted but they are really good and know exactly what they’re talking about when giving you a consultation. Highly recommend all of the staff but I have had Natalie for my hair who is excellent.

I've visited Boilerhouse a couple of times and in my last visit had highlights. The stylist, Natalie, was absolutely lovely and made me feel at ease - I even got a glass of wine during my appointment (always a plus). The end result was great, and my basically 3 tone hair had been turned into a lovely golden shade all over, with the colour evened out massively. Thanks a million!
I came in full of hair colour woes (from another salon) and came out full of joy!
Gabi was amazing and worked miracles on my sad tresses and the rest of the team were wonderful too. Worth every penny and can’t recommend this place enough!
Haven’t been to the salon for over 20 years due to moving away from immediate area etc. Back there today and it was wonderful. It just felt great going back and seeing all the changes and wonderful staff. It always was and I’m sure always will be the no.1 salon in the area.
Had the new Medik8 facial done by Rachel and it was so relaxing and the results are instant. Beautiful products and highly professional, would highly recommend to anyone as there’s facials for all skin types. Rachel was amazing too!
Had the best experience with these guys, absolute gems, did such a fantastic job on my hair, exactly want I needed!!
Couldn't be happier with the service I have received at Boilerhouse! With colouring my hair red I often have issues with the colour lasting as it often fades incredibly quick...not at Boilerhouse! Their colour and application is of such good quality, all the staff I've been served by are professional and lovely, and the salon itself is just so cool. Felix did my hair today and it was a great experience.
Cannot fault Boilerhouse. All staff are lovely, the complimentary tea/coffee/wine is excellent. The standard of hairdressing is superb. Thank you Felix for my new hair and the young man (forgotten your name so sorry!) who blow-dried and gave the last finishing touches. I shall be returning soon!
Boilerhouse is the best salon around If your looking for perfection, look no further. The staff are all lovely and always welcome you with a smile even on their busiest days. You know your in safe hands as soon as you walk through the door. I virtually let the little miracle worker Gabby do what she wants with my hair colour as she always gets it right, while Jo and Vicky works wonders with the scissors � I wouldn’t go anywhere else, their stuck with me �xx
Always have my hair cut and coloured by Sally and have never ever been disappointed! Literally a pleasure to be sat in the chair from customer service to the finished product, worth every penny! �
