Love stocking up on meat from Bolams. Can't beat it. Always well stocked and fresh and love their fish counter and the fresh fruit & veg. In fact love all what they sell. Have been coming here for years way back to when I was younger with my parents. Great value too. Will always be a returning customer

After helping out with a poorly customer, I had a wonderful unexpected gift of gratitude and thanks. Us nurses are always on call, even on our days off . Pleasure to help, the NHS never sleeps! Well done to Bolams staff for being quick, responsive, caring and professional. Thanks Andrew Bolam, it was my pleasure to help.

I have been a customer of Bolams since they had a shop in Ferryhill Station and always been more than satisfied. Unfortunately I called in last week and spent a large amount on freezer food stock. I bought a beef joint costing just over £12, not too bad for beef, but only small as midweek treat. It is an absolute waste of money very tough, more fat and grizzle than meat. Looks like gone are the days when Bolams meat melted in the mouth... come.on get your act together with daily takings amounting to quite a hefty sum your customers deserve better. Although long way to travel I have found a much better provider and from now on that's where I'll be giving my custom.

I went yesterday and had my lunch, and I always have lamb chops as the meat melts in your mouth but unfortunately sorry to say they were very dry and tough, so didn't eat it. Mr Bolam came over asked if we enjoyed our meal ,I told him no so he took plate away and said he will check the rest of the chops and I'll have a word with the Chef but he didn't come back to explain.

My husband and myself called into cafe for a breakfast.. in seeing the assistant serving and putting the utensils back into a tub of grease lined water that was the colour of a pond , the plate swimming in grease and black water from the mushrooms we rightly so walked out never to return

I'm down most Monday mornings before opening time, traveling half an hour to buy out all the beef stock bones and basically cheap waste bones for my dogs and then meat and veg for my family. I stand for over an hour each time to be told they won't be long. I've put to them about saving their time and packaging and I will buy them in bulk with no luck. Last week I waited an hour and 20 minutes after speaking to several staff to leave then with 2 trays of bones which wasn't even enough for my dogs. Today we've left empty handed. I will not be returning, terrible customer service

User

I asked for a flat brisket. I was told they had them rolled. I took it out today and it's a hack job. Far from a brisket. The butcher needs to learn how to cut a brisket or maybe even learn what a brisket is. I specifically asked if they were sure a rolled was the same as a flat and they said "yes just take the strings off" absolute mess of a piece of meat!
