Brewers Fayre Old West Quay

Visited this evening for the chip shop Chefs Counter. Efficient and friendly service when placing order, and very tasty food counter. Venue clean and tables cleared shortly after customers left. Can't fault it at all. Excellent all round.

I took my mam today for a treat being mothers day, i hadnt booked as it was a spur of the moment thing. The staff (Deb) was very helpful amd fit us in. The food was lovely, hot and fresh. I wpuld definately be coming again. Thank you for being so helpful amd accomodating x

Had my daughters party in the play area today. The staff were fab and couldn’t be more helpful. Really good value for money too

Food is great and staff are so friendly.kids loved the play area and Jamie leigh in play area made kids feel very welcome also a young lass called Sophie made is very welcome check if everything was Okay for are meal she went the extra mile for us all deffo can't wait to back my family all love the brewers farye

Excellent food and service. I was concerned about my steak but the duty manageress spoke to chef who was happy to meet my requirements. It had snowed all day and there had been no delivery but the staff coped really well and diners were mostly happy. (There’s always one party you can never please - large parties, learn to book in advance, it’s really easy).

Attended yesterday for a few drinks and some food with my girlfriend, ordered a burger which was lovely but the waitress I believe her name is Jean deserves a lot of credit, very friendly helpful and chatty made the experience lovely, she deserves some appreciation she's always lovely and smiley whenever we come in, thank you 😊👌

3 of my drinks were on our cousins bill and we had 2 meals added to our bill from another table nothing to do with ours. Got sorted out but what a carry on. Just as well we noticed the bill was too much and queried it

We have been a few times and had our tea and always been quite happy with our choices. We were tonight really except for there version of Apple crumble which I had ordered. No way could this dish be realistically given the name of Apple crumble it was Apple yes but the crumble was not cooked in the conventional way and was just a powdered topping on the apple. I will know better next time. On a good note my husbands sticky toffee pudding looked and from what he said tasted like sticky toffee pudding lol

Only had a prawn cocktail as I wasn't very hungry. It would have a lot easier to eat if the lettuce had been chopped rather than left in big chunks and I didn't fancy stabbing a knife into the glass dish it was in. Overpriced too for the size of the portion and Overpriced drinks. However the company I was with enjoyed thier main courses and deserts and the staff were very friendly.

£6.00 for two kids in soft play area excellent value. Now to the food. I ordered The NEW Yorker burger was ok. Ordered carvery for mother in law was nice. Orderd 2 bash street burgers parts were burnt. NOW FOR THE MAIN PART melting brie bites and garlic and herb breaded mushrooms stone cold and on a warm plate. Complained and the lady didn't even apologise. Replacement was brought out was hot enough but not very good. When it was time for kids deserts the waitress came back in to ask what I wanted as the kitchen had lost the order. Was made to feel by the lad who I gave food back to and the young lass that brought replacement out as if it was my fault.

Chicken tikka was too runny not much chicken in it, hardly any rice and the poppadoms were soggy and stale so no good. I had a mixed grill a couple of weeks ago and it was spot on so don't know what went wrong last night

8 of us went here for our 6 monthly work night out. We went for the curry night which is 5 till 8 monday and Thursdays. We turned up at 6.30pm to be told that they had ran out of the curries and wouldn't be filling them up. Unbelievable. I then proceeded to order drinks from a very abrupt bald barman who seemed to be on the defensive without me mentioning the problems with the curry. Surely this isn't the first time a complaint has been made about him. Customer service is certainly not for him and neither is socialising. We got the burgers which wern't bad, nothing to write home about, bumped up a star because the other staff were great.

Sadly the service was v.slow. Child’s sausage and mash was barely touched as the sausages were burnt black and barely a tablespoon of mash on the plate.

Deserts took forever to come and I had to get up and ask for them to be brought through (still took ages). We cleared our own dinner plates tonthe sideboard and even our deserts and wiped the table down with baby wipes so the queue of people waiting to be seated could sit down. Service was very poor indeed.

1 star is purely for the play area that the kids enjoyed.

Ordered 4 hot meals and one sandwich all together 2 meals come then 10 mins later the other 2 came and I'm still waiting for my sandwich 30 mins later I had to ask for it and when it finally came the bread was hard which shocking with asda only up the bloody road then we ordered 4 desserts to which only 2 came out once again no sign of the other two we complained told them that meals where ordered all together and either got them late or with the desserts not at all and paid about 40 pound wouldn't eat hear again rather stick to merry go round

We used to be regulars here,but it has gone proper down hill.

My son went into the play area he's 9 and I agree yes he is tall for his age I agree but a lady let him in didn't mention anything about height regulations.. 45 mins into him playing another staff member took over and felt the need to corner my son in the area and say "who the hell let you in here?!" He came to speak to me in pieces saying a staff member had screamed at him! I didn't get a name all he said was dark hair and glasses with the uniform on! I would y even speak to a child like that so what gives her the right to? My son has autism and adhd and it caused him to go into a meltdown and he then ran out of the building we chased him and couldn't find him nowhere (baring in mind the restaurant is right near the water) I had a party booked for my daughter which I cancelled there and then as I was then told my son could not attend.. staff attitude stinks!

I took my mam today for a treat being mothers day, i hadnt booked as it was a spur of the moment thing. The staff (Deb) was very helpful amd fit us in. The food was lovely, hot and fresh. I wpuld definately be coming again. Thank you for being so helpful amd accomodating x

Had my daughters party in the play area today. The staff were fab and couldn’t be more helpful. Really good value for money too

Food is great and staff are so friendly.kids loved the play area and Jamie leigh in play area made kids feel very welcome also a young lass called Sophie made is very welcome check if everything was Okay for are meal she went the extra mile for us all deffo can't wait to back my family all love the brewers farye

Excellent food and service. I was concerned about my steak but the duty manageress spoke to chef who was happy to meet my requirements. It had snowed all day and there had been no delivery but the staff coped really well and diners were mostly happy. (There’s always one party you can never please - large parties, learn to book in advance, it’s really easy).

Attended yesterday for a few drinks and some food with my girlfriend, ordered a burger which was lovely but the waitress I believe her name is Jean deserves a lot of credit, very friendly helpful and chatty made the experience lovely, she deserves some appreciation she's always lovely and smiley whenever we come in, thank you 😊👌

3 of my drinks were on our cousins bill and we had 2 meals added to our bill from another table nothing to do with ours. Got sorted out but what a carry on. Just as well we noticed the bill was too much and queried it

We have been a few times and had our tea and always been quite happy with our choices. We were tonight really except for there version of Apple crumble which I had ordered. No way could this dish be realistically given the name of Apple crumble it was Apple yes but the crumble was not cooked in the conventional way and was just a powdered topping on the apple. I will know better next time. On a good note my husbands sticky toffee pudding looked and from what he said tasted like sticky toffee pudding lol

Only had a prawn cocktail as I wasn't very hungry. It would have a lot easier to eat if the lettuce had been chopped rather than left in big chunks and I didn't fancy stabbing a knife into the glass dish it was in. Overpriced too for the size of the portion and Overpriced drinks. However the company I was with enjoyed thier main courses and deserts and the staff were very friendly.

Went yesterday evening and it was a different story. There was bones in the fish resulting in one being lodged in my throat, eggshells in my husband's fried egg.

The staff were great in dealing with it, we got a full refund and free desserts, these being the best part of the full meal!

£6.00 for two kids in soft play area excellent value. Now to the food. I ordered The NEW Yorker burger was ok. Ordered carvery for mother in law was nice. Orderd 2 bash street burgers parts were burnt. NOW FOR THE MAIN PART melting brie bites and garlic and herb breaded mushrooms stone cold and on a warm plate. Complained and the lady didn't even apologise. Replacement was brought out was hot enough but not very good. When it was time for kids deserts the waitress came back in to ask what I wanted as the kitchen had lost the order. Was made to feel by the lad who I gave food back to and the young lass that brought replacement out as if it was my fault.

Chicken tikka was too runny not much chicken in it, hardly any rice and the poppadoms were soggy and stale so no good. I had a mixed grill a couple of weeks ago and it was spot on so don't know what went wrong last night

8 of us went here for our 6 monthly work night out. We went for the curry night which is 5 till 8 monday and Thursdays. We turned up at 6.30pm to be told that they had ran out of the curries and wouldn't be filling them up. Unbelievable. I then proceeded to order drinks from a very abrupt bald barman who seemed to be on the defensive without me mentioning the problems with the curry. Surely this isn't the first time a complaint has been made about him. Customer service is certainly not for him and neither is socialising. We got the burgers which wern't bad, nothing to write home about, bumped up a star because the other staff were great.

Sadly the service was v.slow. Child’s sausage and mash was barely touched as the sausages were burnt black and barely a tablespoon of mash on the plate.

Deserts took forever to come and I had to get up and ask for them to be brought through (still took ages). We cleared our own dinner plates tonthe sideboard and even our deserts and wiped the table down with baby wipes so the queue of people waiting to be seated could sit down. Service was very poor indeed.

1 star is purely for the play area that the kids enjoyed.

Ordered 4 hot meals and one sandwich all together 2 meals come then 10 mins later the other 2 came and I'm still waiting for my sandwich 30 mins later I had to ask for it and when it finally came the bread was hard which shocking with asda only up the bloody road then we ordered 4 desserts to which only 2 came out once again no sign of the other two we complained told them that meals where ordered all together and either got them late or with the desserts not at all and paid about 40 pound wouldn't eat hear again rather stick to merry go round

My son went into the play area he's 9 and I agree yes he is tall for his age I agree but a lady let him in didn't mention anything about height regulations.. 45 mins into him playing another staff member took over and felt the need to corner my son in the area and say "who the hell let you in here?!" He came to speak to me in pieces saying a staff member had screamed at him! I didn't get a name all he said was dark hair and glasses with the uniform on! I would y even speak to a child like that so what gives her the right to? My son has autism and adhd and it caused him to go into a meltdown and he then ran out of the building we chased him and couldn't find him nowhere (baring in mind the restaurant is right near the water) I had a party booked for my daughter which I cancelled there and then as I was then told my son could not attend.. staff attitude stinks!

Visited this evening for the chip shop Chefs Counter. Efficient and friendly service when placing order, and very tasty food counter. Venue clean and tables cleared shortly after customers left. Can't fault it at all. Excellent all round.
