We have an ix35 which cut out on a19 engine management failure (this was due to fuel filters on the car not working correctly and a requirement on a service). I rang Peterlee for advice and was told we had Hyundai assistance we rang the aa came and took the car to the garage they sorted the filter free of charge the next day car cleaned and valeted and returned x three week later we had more warning lights x again Hyundai Peterlee looked at the car free of charge ran diagnostics cleaned and valeted and turned out that we have had the tyres replaced at a local tyre centre who managed to fit the wrong size tyres x Hyundai staff have been very understanding and incredibly good can’t Thankyou enough x

Bought my Hyundai ix35 as needed a reliable car due to having a 3 year old. Had various issues with the car due to random warning lights coming on for no reason to be told they are system faults. The latest issue is the fuel emission light coming on. My Car is cutting out when getting to 4th gear. I am having to pull over and turn the car off and restart. The car is also randomly dipping in power and then finding the power again. Not a great scenario when you have a 3 year old in the back, I’m just glad I wasn’t on the motorway when it happened. Realised I had to take it to the Hyundai garage at peterlee to get it looked at. I took the back roads as didn’t want to chance it on the A19. Told the lady on services reception desk what had been happening. She said she knew what the problem was and I was blamed for putting supermarket petrol in the car and due to this and the cold weather it clogs the filter in the engine ( on speaking to a few mechanics tonight, one of which has worked in a Hyundai garage I have been told that this is not true at all) the lady did however say that she could get someone to look at it. I thought this is a great service only to be told that the person would be able to look at it ok 22nd Feb in a weeks time. I Asked her is there is no way this can be sorted sooner and I have to drive around with my car cutting out randomly with a child in the back and she said that’s the earliest it could be looked at. My wife doesn’t work Thursday, Friday and all weekend so we could bring the car in anytime and she said no we are busy the earliest is 22nd. Very poor customer service, no accommodation or understanding of personal circumstances and need for a situation to be fixed.

I am not impressed with the Bristol Street Peterlee Hyundai Service Plan; I bought a Hyundai i40 in July last year and purchased a 3-year service plan with the car. I part-exchanged the car for a Mazda at another Hyundai dealership this year and contacted Bristol Street Peterlee to ask for a refund of what was left on the service plan. I was told that a refund was not possible and I could only use the remainder of the service plan if I bought another Hyundai. I think that this is sharp practice on the part of Bristol Street Motors and restricts a car buyer to purchasing Hyundai vehicles if they don't want to lose their money. bad customer service!

Had to intervene as sense they ripping wife off, did a diagnostic for £84 all clear, as it has a headlight problem. Carried out a visual health check free of charge, never asked for it... Got a list it had worn brakes, etc they said it should not be drivin away unless the wife signs a disclaimer. Car had recently past test ? More interested in repairing other faults than the headlights with estimate of repairs around £1000 probably plus vat on top. Upsell is the game here, paid £84 for diagnostic, no further forward and left.
