On a blustery walk down to Nanjizal Beach today, the hedgerows bursting with blackberries, Red Admiral butterflies skittish in the wind, and a lone seal tumbling in the rolling waves. We took shelter beside the Cornish stone walling.

Interesting times

Sophie Dennett originally trained at The London School of Fashion, later working for Warner Brothers in ‘creature effects’. She now lives in Trythall, Newmill near Penzance.
We're very excited to be able to show this artist, fresh to the scene and in her first exhibition.
Sophie brings real depth and emotion to her art practice. Each paint stroke in oil is added with passion, inviting you to delve deeper. She captures a look and a mood, bringing the everyday struggles and cel...ebrations to life. Her paintings resonate with family and sense of place.
Her work is available to buy and can be viewed in the Upstairs Gallery at Circa 21, Penzance until September 21st. Open 10am-4pm Monday to Saturday. Free entry.

Ian Laurie has been invited again to show his latest art work in the Upstairs Gallery at Circa 21 until 30th August.
Expect to see landscape views of his beloved West Cornwall. His mark making and brush strokes are full of energy and movement, incorporating lush teals and emerald colours for his framed and unframed acrylics. Ian's natural skill for beautiful fine detail, to capture the smallest of moods in his delicate etchings, will always charm the viewer. Collected world...wide since the 1970s, his original artwork is available to buy, if you fall in love with his unique style. Plus his popular limited edition etchings from £12.
