To all shop keepers in the town..I've just had a shop lifter in the shop..she has taken a couple of tops..she looked like she was wearing a wig and of ethnic colouring...has some type of sloppy bag over her shoulder...tried ringing the police but no one answered....

Its national cream tea day so we are serving fruit or devonshire scones with a choice of jam and clotted cream accompanied with a pot of tea £4 pp . Come and enjoy a summer treat out of the heat as the temperature in Clarendons is refreshingly cool.

The weather is set to be lovely all weekend , and today is Barnard Castles farmers market. Here at Clarendon's we are serving our varied breakfast menu until 11.30 where you can choose a full breakfast using local produce from our region or something lighter such as the french toast with cinnamon and raspberries . We look forward to seeing you all as you enjoy the sunshine ☉

We've been to Clarendon's a couple of times,once for food and yesterday just for coffee. Both times the service has been very efficient and friendly and the food and coffee were excellent. We live in Sunderland so we are only in Barnard Castle a few times a year but my wife and I will visit Clarendon's on our next visit. Thoroughly recommended.

We call in probably twice a week, home made soup to die for as well as the rest of the menu, staff are happy & helpful & efficient. Will be there next week xx

Stopped off here for lunch on the way back home after a few days in the Lake District. This is the best place we have eaten at all week!

Stopped in for lunch with our children. The food was great quality and the service was friendly and efficient. The kids high tea was especially impressive for my three year old daughter too. Thank you!

Service was lovely and welcoming. Friendly comfy atmosphere. Food beautifully presented and tasted delicious. Would recommend and definitely go back again. Our 6 yr old granddaughter was made to feel very special. Thank you 💕

Lovely, family friendly cafe. Get there early for lunch as tables fill up quick! We all really enjoyed our food. Highly recommend.

Just had lunch here, the three cheese and onion quiche was gorgeous as was the trio of Desserts, would highly recommend eating here.

I Had my baby shower here yesterday! Upstairs, what a Hidden little gem in the town- Emma the waitress couldn’t do enough for us, the service and food was second to none! Definitely would recommend this if you after a afternoon tea experience or if your wanting to host a little gathering whatever the occasion- brilliant!!

Have breakfast here every Monday. The staff are always very attentive and cheerful. The food is excellent and freshly cooked. Well done to everyone.

Fabulous lunch with my husband - staff we met were all lovely, friendly and very polite - would definitely recommend and can't wait to go back for a traditional afternoon tea as that looked lush!
