Great day out today at Scarborough on our S1's
So what do you do if you need to torque up your flywheel nut and you have loaned out you flywheel holding tool? You can hold the flywheel using a ratchet strap. Wrap it round the flywheel and the footrest support. No problem.
Converting Lambretta small block to big block. 125/150 to 200/225
Measuring up a Lambretta engine using the CNC as a coordinate measuring machine.
Another Rapido cylinder converted to reed valve. This time using an LTH manifold. Just some more finishing off still to do.
Porting underway to match manifolds and improve port timing.
Fitting a BGM Shorty reed valve to a Rapido 225. Lots of material must be removed from the cylinder to get the manifold to sit flat on the cylinder gasket face. Manifold looks to be a great piece of kit.
The owner of this Lambretta had it in my workshop last week to have the carb cleaned and a new air filter fitted. The scooter looked completely original, started first kick and ran sweet. The side panels and horn casting looked like they were in original paint. The white looked as if it was rattle canned. If it was mine I wouldn't bother painting it as it had loads of character. I think that for very little money and a little bit of fettling it would be a good scooter for someone to run as it is. I'm disappointed that he's decided to sell it.
Something a bit unusual in the workshop today. A Zabel 700cc 2 stroke cylinder in for repair.
Shortening a Cassa SS200 cylinder to fit a Spanish engine casing.
Decided to make a decent jig for converting 125, 150 and 175 crank cases to 200 spec.
Making Suzuki TR250 heads again today for the Isle of Man classic TT.
