We have received a Thank you card regarding one of our carers Darren Brown. Here are a few lines from it... "We were so pleased with the care, respect and dignity you showed to our Dad" "We can't thank you enough" "It was hard for Dad to accept care but you did this in a nice way and he accepted you" and finally "My memories of Dad at the end of his life will always have you in it and the rest of the family have said the same" How lovely. We feel extremely proud of Darren and all of our care staff. This shows the difficult side to being a carer as its not always easy but knowing you have done something like this for someone and their family is so rewarding! Dignity Action feel good story alert! A lady who we are looking after who is sadly terminally ill has been loving watching the snow over the weekend. She has been desperate to see a snowman outside her window. Our carers are so thoughtful and respectful to our service users needs that they went outside and made her a snowman. She was over the moon and could not stop looking at it. Its stories like this that show care is so much more than people realise and respecting people's wishes at difficult times is priceless. #carers #ccsgateshead #morethanjustacarer
